Game crashes immediately

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:20 am

When I start the game, it immediately crashes at startup. I can't even start the game. The first time in many years that I finally buy a game because I beleive the creators deserve it. Thanks to Bethesda for proving that we should all pirate and download games. When that goes wrong you haven't lost any money!

These are my specs:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3,2 Ghz

Memory: 14GB Videocard: Nvidia geforce GTX 750 Ti

OS: 64its Windows 7

Has anybody got any ideas?

Graphics: Radeon R7 (3.70 GHz)

RAM: 8 (6.94 usable)

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 home Premium

had same issue I have gtx 980 x2 SLI. nothing in forums worked.

had to do clean delete of all FO4 folder ( not recheck by steam! )

then deleted all nvidia files and re downloaded everything from the start ( restart pc after each one)

then downloaded again and it worked.

really makes no sense but it worked for me, delete everything and redownload.

I am having the same problem. The game crashes immediately when I try to execute it via Steam with a "Fallout Launcher has stopped working" error.

My HW (easily) meets the minimum requirements. GTX-970 graphics card, 12GB RAM, i7-990x processor, multi-TB of free disk space. I did a clean install of the latest version of the NVIDIA drivers, and also tried changing Steam, Fallout and Fallout launcher to Run as Admin and experimented with different compatibility modes. Nothing helped the problem.

I noticed that I can get the Fallout Launcher to run if I execute it manually from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 folder. However, when I click on "Play" it crashes immediately with a "Fallout Launcher has stopped working" error. After that, I have a wait several minutes before I can get the launcher to run again.

Customer service is awful. I have yet to get any response to the support ticket I put in on release day other than to tell me to make sure my drivers are up to date. Of course, I mentioned that in the original support ticket.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this???

Thanks!
