Bethesda should warn left handed players - Do Not Buy

I too was able to easily start out using the mouse in my right hand. And yes, the lack of Brightness adjustment is peculiar. I have an IPS 1440p monitor, and with the colors already brighter than with a TN panel, the Brightness usually needs a little bit of darkening to cause items to stand out from their surroundings. I'm also red/green colorblind, so it becomes a bit more important for me.

Pretty much every PC game since Doom let you rebind the keys to whatever you want... That IS the standard. Suppose you bought a new car and the gas/brake pedals were switched and you were stuck with it. Thats Bethesda.

They're not going to fix it either. Skyrim was screwed up in the same way and never fixed.

ok, buy me a right handed mouse and I might try learning to play right handed, because right now I own a left handed razer death adder. Until you do that, be quiet.

I can't believe this is coming from a mod. Look, Bethesda failed at providing a game with basic features like keybinding. I have a left handed mouse, I use arrows and numpads to play ALL my other games which provide the BASIC functionality of binding my keys. The ones at fault here are Bethesda for not adapting to PC gaming. I've played video games like this for 25 years, and it's not Bethesda that's gonna force me to change my way of playing games, especially when THEY are the one charging 80$ for their game. It's that kind of weak resignation of "oh well gotta adapt and accept right handed people dominance" that makes it so left handed players can get screwed up like that.

Left handed players adapting to video gaming MEANS CHANGING THE BINDS SO THEY CAN PLAY COMFORTABLY AND ADAPT THE GAME TO THEIR NEEDS.

Already posted numeros threads about this also :P and replied to many others also concerns people who do not use Qwerty Keyboards (I am left hander on a Azerty Keyboard) so you can understand my initial anger about this for a 2015 AAA game .... is just stupid.

I'm left handed, always use the mouse in the right hand, left hand for WASD. I use a controller for Fallout 4 anyway, so it doesn't matter.

The whole "just adapt" thing is not an acceptable solution I'm afraid. The controls don't make sense, there's too many irregularities and weird stuff going on.

Apart from all of the things thats already been well documented in the various threads over the last few days re: keybinding, consider this:

There are a number of actions on the PC version of Fallout 4 that are consolidated into one keystroke. For example, melee and grenade both share a key, as do holster and reload. There are more too, and I'm sure you all know them. The reason for this is because Fallout 4 is a console port. There's only so many buttons on a console controller, so actions had to be consolidated. A short tap elicits one action, and a press and hold elicits another. When Fallout 4 was ported from the console to the PC, these console features were not stripped out, they remained. Even though there's more than enough keys on the keyboard to accomodate them all, the PC version still has the control features of the consoles.

That's just one irregularity out of many, but it shows how little attention was paid to the pc port. While I can completely accept the fact that some people are fine with its current condition, some of us are not. And from what I've seen we've always used evidence to support our complaints. "Just adapt" is a weak rebuttal, and it doesn't work.

indeed, left handed players are already "adapting" by reconfiguring all their keys every time they play a new game. Fallout 4 doesn't even let us do that.
