So I just beat the mission where you sneak into the ex-Railroad homebase to find Dr. Carrington's prototype and upon returning to Railroad HQ, just played out the scenario as I would any other, including talking to Carrington. Whilst I did see the option to hand over the prototype, I took another option, can't remember what it read as but it was the triangle prompt, usually just an option to take to learn more and was never given another prompt to return the prototype. Upon retalking to the good doctor, all he tries to do is heal me (What a dike, right?) effectively locking me out of this quest. None of my auto saves went back before the mission for some reason (had like, 3 that were all the same, whats that about?) and I tried reloading to no avail. Am I just locked out forever now? Or is there some shenanigan I can pull to activate it? Actually pretty bummed out as the Railroad are so far my favs of the 3 groups that I assume hold importance in the finale. Can I at least still pick them in whatever the inevitable choice I have to make later on?
