My gun dissapeares and dosent come back (Compleatly)

I Have my gun disappearing on a regular basis and it is stopping me front playing the game, Basically I talk to a npc and then at the end my gun disappears, I cannot shoot, it doesn't let me swop to a different gun? and also doesn't let me throw grenades, I have tried reloging, and dropping all guns on the ground and picking them back up.

I Have reset my game several times and it does fix it but only so long till you talk to another different npc and it does the same, Basically its unavoidable....

Try this, Favorite your gun and assign it to a shortcut key, use the shortcut key to bring your gun up.

It didn't work, it completely makes my gun disappear, Its only on the paladin dance mission where you meet the crew?

Go third person and then switch back to first person or vice versa,this works for me when I encounter this bug.

If your weapon disappears, you’ll want to switch to another weapon and then switch back. The weapon that vanished should reappear.

If it doesn’t, you’ll want to revert back to an older save. If that doesn’t work, restart your game or system.

Iv tried most sulusions, it cannot be avoided rather, if I want to finish the game I need to do the brotherhood of steel missions which this bug is preventing me to do. It is not the normal gun disappearing this one stops me from attacking in all forms and prevents me from. seeing my weapon (and nades)

I have this problem too. My gun disappears , I cannot shoot and Invincibility.

I have experienced the exact same bug twice now. Happens consistently when i try to finish the Reunions quest and it also happened talking with Preston Garvey. Both times i didn't notice until i had overwritten my 3 auto-saves costing me 1 and 2.5 hours respectively. Also due to the Reunions quest consistently causing this bug it means that i cannot progress the story at all! Game breaking bug.

I believe I've found the fix a large number of the 'loss of player control' bugs...

Short answer:
Enter 'enableplayercontrols 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1' into the console.

Here's a short textual summary of the fix:

  1. During normal gameplay (not in VATS, a terminal, a conversation, a menu, etc.) , open the console and run the command 'DumpInputEnableLayers'

  2. If you see a Layer there, note it's number. Not the hexadecimal one, the normal integer one -- such as '0'.

  3. Run the command 'ResetInputEnableLayer [#]' to remove the restrictions that layer had.

Long answer:
The 'loss of VATS' version of this issue is caused by the failure of a vault door opening animation to play. Most people report this happening with Vault 114, but there have been other vaults mentioned by people with this issue.

Here's what the game should do when working normally:
1. Disable VATS
2. Play several related door opening animations
3. Re-enable VATS

But, for some unknown reason, the script that handles those actions crashes on the animation steps, and never executes the 'Re-enable VATS' step. This then leaves you without VATS, presumably for the remainder of the game.. (Although, I bet if you were able to successfully open a later Vault, you may get VATS back when the same script successfully completes.)

I believe the other sorts of loss-of-player-control issues are similar situations where a script disables a particular aspect of player control, and never re-enables it.

And, in case you are particularly curious, here are what all those '1's mean, per the help text of the 'enableplayercontrols' command:
[movement|fighting|pov|looking|sneaking|menu|activate|journal|vats|favorites]

Edit: I've gotten reports that there is also a 'forceenableplayercontrols' that takes the same 10 '1's. Please try that command if the normal 'enableplayercontrols' command does not work.

Edit 2: Please see the correct fix noted above.

OMG It work, ResetInputEnableLayer 0 .thank you for your help. This bug break me 3days .
