Fallout 4 night vision, heat vision, zoom, implants, etc

I really liked the alternate vision mod in NV.

Maybe they could implement it into the power armour and have it drain power when used so you'd have to be more tactical with it.

Same with NVG's or scopes. You need batteries to use them too. So you'd always have to carry EC or MFC.

Implants? Like hair plugs?

No but seriously, I don't think they should add any of these in. Maybe on certain unique weapons, or modifications, you can have night vision. Other than that, just no.

Night vision goggles are a thing I'm fine with. Even if night vision and heat vision tend to nauseate me.

It's probably too late for the developers to add these things, if not already added, but a mod developer could add with mods.

There was tonnes of mods available for Fallout 3 & NV, at last count.

Night / dark areas can make for really intense gaming experiences. However with night / dark areas, comes also the need to give the player tools to work around this handicap.

Eg. a torch, flashlight, nightvision and thermal vision.

It's also, in my humble oppinion, rather silly to think that the fallout universe would not have something similar. :)

Yeah it can be implemented without it totally making it feel like Call of Duty and killing the Fallout vibe. It would just kinda make sense, wouldn't it? I'd like to have it limited in ways to not be able to use it at all times, like maybe for certain quests or it being powered by batteries that are limited in the world, or something like that.

It should stay true to the game for sure or atleast be something ... with a fallout'ian interpretation.

There was sorts of nigh vision in use during world war 2, so certainly it's possible. I don't know how dependent on "microprocessors", which they didn't have til recently in fallout universe, modern "gear" is...

I was thinking of atleast 2 possible routes to go with it ... Either small specific areas or... if they wanted to make it more survivalist... Dark nights vs. days, somewhat dying light inspired, where in one you're the hunter... the other you get hunted, which could possibly be interesting with the new settlement thing.

Well, that's just daydreaming / random thoughts.

Personally I prefer that each have their disadvantages. Torch is light in every direction, but not very far. Flashlight, narrow, but further. Night vision is good but opens your for being blinded. Thermal can see through smoke, haze, but relatively short range and heavy/bulky. Rather than the battery thing, which I just find plain silly, since it must be the absolutely worst batteries ever. :D

I think something emitting from the Pipboy would work very well. Like some kind of holographic light allowing night vision for some stupid reason, but only works when you see through the rectangle or orb that's in front of you/around you. If they could just implement this kind of thing only for gun scopes, that would be great, too. It would make you think twice before crafting a gun that best suits you. Meaning if you want thermal vision, you gotta equip that gun and you're stuck with it if that's all you brought with you. It would make crafting more unique and enjoyable as well.
