Woke up to a sad e-mail...

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 5:41 am

I live in Canada and managed to pre-order the Pip-boy edition from GAME, a store in the UK, so I was pretty excited. I recieved an e-mail from them today explaining that they weren't able to ship it internationally because it weighs over 1kg. I didn't bother to try to pick it up when it came back in VERY limited stock because I thought I already had it locked in. Also, this particular pre-order was going to come with an exclusive Vault-boy bobblehead, so there was no way I was gonna pass that up. Now, AFTER everything is sold out again, I'm told I'm basically left with nothing. I really hope it becomes available again. The one collector's edition I actually wanna buy.

Sorry, did try to help with that suggestion. Weird they don't ship internationally.

You could try ordering it to be delivered to one of the big freight shippers. FedEx, UPS, DHL, TNT and have them forward it on to their Canadian counterpart. They all have multiple depots around the UK.

May not be possible but if you really are that desperate, you can only ask and they can only say no.

Seeing that title, you'd think someone had died.

I already knew this about Game, I wanted Witcher 3 Wild Hund and found out they can't ship it overseas.

This pip boy availability thing is a mess and they should make a second edition imo.

I'm sorry to hear that. I truly am. I watched the E3 video of the pip-boy reveal (came out on my birthday!) and got excited for it. Went to amazon and saw I couldn't pre-order it yet. So I figured I'd keep an eye on it. Went to the mountains on vacation (and my anniversary which is 6/24), so needless to say I was a little preoccupied around the time frame they released the Pip-Boy edition for pre-order. I found out about a day after everything sold out. I was as frustrated as you are right now. Then checking ebay just made the matter worse by seeing scalped prices at 3x the original.

Luckily, I was able to constantly monitor Bethesdas' Online Store on 6/26 and grab a copy of the few they released at that point. I was tempted to get one for each system but them didn't because of how angry it makes me scalpers are raking in the dough off of die-hard fans that didn't get a chance to pre-order one.

I hope Bethesda makes this right for you and the other fans that missed out.

Don't worry, OP, you're still lucky...

Here in the "3rd World Countries", we can't even get that -w-' (well we could, but it's unlikely, as most of the copies are concentrated in America and Europe, and it's already been depleted.)

On a brighter note, we do still have that Pip-Boy 2nd screen app for phones... Less cooler, but hey, it's still a "Pip-boy".

A shame, really. But I would have suggested ordering from somewhere within our area from the start.

I think you're pure out of luck now though if you're hoping for any chance of a re-stock.

The Canadian Gamestop sites sold out within the first hour of initial release. I checked back over the next few days, and for atleast the next 2 or 3 days they sold out and got re-stocks each of those days specifically for their Edge card members. That was about 5 days ago now, and I've been checking back every day just to keep an eye out for people who might still be trying to get one here in Canada, everytime it sold out, they pulled the page down until they got the next re-stock, but it has not re-appeared since.

I'd still highly recommend walking into an EB/Gamestop on or a few days after release and find out if anyone cancelled last minute. It happens a lot more than you might think. Again though, timing is everything.

I tried my damnedest to pre-order from Best Buy and Amazon, but they were long gone by then. I feel kind of shafted by GAME, hoestly. Nowhere during the order placement did it say they couldn't ship it internationally because of its weight. They have that information on their site, but you really have to look for it in order to find it. I thought I lucked out so good when I saw they had it in stock, and I've had it pre-ordered for two weeks. I guess It's just the luck of the draw. My fiancée recieved the e-mail from EBgames about the exclusive offer for Edge members, but she didn't bother with it because she knew I had it pre-ordered. I wish GAME would've e-mailed me sooner about it so I may have stood a chance. I even read that EB pre-orders were going to be limited to Austrailia and New Zealand, so it wasn't even a thought in my head.

I did die a little inside, does that count?

Scalpers are just terrible. This whole thing just feels like the Amiibo incident with Nintendo. WAY too much demand and WAY too little supply. We have until November, though, so hopefully Bethesda will give everyone else another chance, like you said.

Don't worry, it'll probably end up breaking for no reason like the FO3 clock.

Game have shafted me before, I preordered mass effect 3, now bear in mind I live in the UK so they didn't have to ship anything anywhere, I went to the shop and they said they didn't have any copies left, I was like "no no no you don't seem to understand I PREORDERED a copy, your meant to reserve a copy for me, I paid 8 quid for that privilege", "well we can refund your 8 pound sir, I'll just take your recei. ." , " no, [censored], I spend 8 quid on a sandwich, forget the 8 quid, I want my [censored] game!". [censored] clowns they are.

I'm expecting a flood of complaints when people actually get the plastic phone holder.
