Pump him full of Psycho and watch him tear a Super Mutant with a rocket launcher to shreds before his heart explodes.

i think the new animations i seen in footage have convinced me to actually use an companion this time around .
only one i ever used willfully since morrowind is Serana http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Serana
that was mostly because she was well acted.
Dogs are just the best <3 (not annoying little yap-dogs though)
Well the dog IS a German Shepherd. Funny thing about German shepherds is they are sorta bred to absolutely @#%& you up.
They are Kept as police attack dogs for good reason.
Is it wrong if i want the dog to have dog power armor? is that bad?
The dog will be badass under my mastership.
That's been discussed.
The only problem is, he is likely male, so, the PA would have to have provisions for him to urinate on everything he walked past.
I know some people here like having Companions but generally I always travel alone in F03 and bring EDE along with me in NV.
This is because many many many years ago I played a game called Fallout, where I came across a former Caravan guard called Ian. Naturally Ian seemed like a good guy and I decided 'Hunting for this Water chip is freakin dangerous, best If I DO bring him along'.
So I went and fought some Khans at their base. I was intimidating the crap outta them and f'd up the intimidation somehow. Combat start, Ian surprised the crap outta me and unloaded with his semi auto weapon shredding me down the middle. After a reload and a similar failure to communicate, Ian once again decided to show his skill with his semi auto and shredded me again.
After my 3rd reload, I decided from then on that having companion was ass and never again did.
I owe a lot to Fallout. My love of post apocalyptica, my desire to see out the Crusader no Remorse series based on my experiences with Fallout.
Finally my desire to never again suffer at the actions of a Companion character.
Why must Dogmeat be essential? I think it would be great fun to pet him for a bit and then take his head off with a shotgun blast. Sell dog meat to the next vendor/scavenger..
Most likely you can kill him. The only confirmed thing is, that companions are unkillable... This could mean that he can still be killed if he is not a companion.
I don't know I was pretty good at killing clover on my own. I'm just pulling the trigger and clover jumps right in front of me to cop a combat shotgun blast right to the back of the head......she flew a nice distance.
Well even do i dont have a dog in real life, nor realy want one (had one, but sadly she passed away a few years ago ) i am going to get Dogmeat as my first (second when counting Codsworth) companion. As for when or where he comes from, Dogmeat is just a nod to old fallout games, both 1 and 2 had a dogmeat in it, explained to be i guess a decendent from each other.
Also, anyone noticed that intialy he is called Dog, but on later gameplay clips he is briefly seen as being named Dogmeat? Hope we get to actualy name him
Actually it is confirmed his name is Dogmeat. Todd Howard stated that at first, yes, his name is dog. Sometime later though apparently someone (former master? Former friend?) will tell us his name is Dogmeat.
NEVER give Ian an automatic weapon.
I really like the doggy-takedown animations, they look really well done. Dogmeat could be a pain in the ass after a while in FO3, but I don't think I can resist taking him with me when I meet him in FO4.
Maybe the dog is more or less a ghoul? or it's FEV? Hell, the dog could be an android from the damned Institute (they build them to be indistinguishable from humans, so why not animals, too!)
Still, I agree, the dog is damned badass (I'd love to see Codsworth fight though he's a companion, too as far as I know (though I still want to upgrade him to a Mister Gutsy!))
greetings LAX
I hope Codsworth has some Kill animations too. Even though Mr. Handy isn't the combat Variant, he could still mess some [censored] up with that Buzzsaw
