What happens when you use the wrong chemicals -Polymer Labs

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:19 am

I just stumbled upon the Cambridge Chemical Labs Quest where you can mix chemicals to create some pretty good Power Armor. Has anyone tried mixing other chemicals? What happens?

It doesn't let you. Just tells you they're the wrong ones.

Just reloaded and tested it. It looks like you cant do anything with the other elements.

It's also worth noting that the extra canisters get stuck in your inventory after the quest, so only pick up Sample 3111 and Sample 611, and leave them in the machine when you're done, or you'll be stuck with them. It's annoying that this has to be meta-gamed, but the only other option is having stuff in your inventory you can't get rid of.

If Bethesda doesn't get to it first, I suspect that this will rank rather high on the list of "features" to be fixed with the unofficial patch. We've had issues in previous games where quest-related items don't get unflagged as quest items after the related quest finishes. They usually get caught and fixed in one of the earlier unofficial patches.

I don't doubt that, but the official tools haven't been released yet, so I don't think there is an unofficial patch, yet, so we have to meta-game in the meantime.

I hate things like that. I'm already disappointed that they lumped all Holotapes and notes into the Misc section, making them a pain to get to. Don't need anything else cluttering the interface.

Like I said, it's a pain that we have to meta-game like that. Given that this isn't the first game this has happened with, you'd think they'd pay better attention to this issue.

But then it wouldn't be a Bethesda game.
