Nah, they're informants. As in they'll snitch on any synths they come across to the Institute or otherwise. They aren't synths though. And wrong section.

So someone brought this up in reddit about the synths and more particularly the romance options

**Story Spoiler Alert**

Spoiler
Since the synths are made using Shaun's DNA, then technically some of the romance options are your biological grandchildren... I'm seriously surprised Bethesda was allowed to incorporate multiple incist romances.. Especially with your grandchildren.

Technacly it would be more like sleeping with your direct children because they were made using only his DNA without a second set to mix it with but on the other hand they odviously edited his DNA in order to change skin color, hair color, and even gender on some synths so at what point do they deviate too far from the original to be "safely" far enough away from your own DNA?

I think this is really the sort of main point we should all think about.

Danse looks nothing like Shaun, or the default PC. At the point Synths are at now, they are likely more divergent in DNA then your cousins are.

And most marriages in history are suspected to have been between first and second cousins, so its really not THAT bizarre of Bethesda to imply.

I dunno it's definitely touchy, especially with the possibilities of recombinant DNA and genetic engineering in our own universe.

Hell I've actually considered having a genetically engineered baby when the time comes simply for eliminating serious genetic diseases and such.

Accidently shot the Doc when he walked infront of me. Didn't find any Synth components.

They aren't Synths. They're snitches. Not everyone who works with the Institute above ground is a Synth.

This. They're listed as "Informants" i.e. people that help to tip off SRB Courser's as to the location of rouge synths.

They aren't synths themselves.

I could have sworn it said they were sympathisers and not out right synths. I'll have to look again.
