Taking people's need for protection and safety.. Making their own experiments..

What about that vault which was designed to never close?

I suspect this salesman knew the experiment our hero was going to be subjected to.

Lots of times I already know this stuff but sometimes I don't.. I had not thought of it this way.

I doubt that the average salesman knew all the secrets....or any at all.

What if this "salesman" is as people say actually a scientist working on a Valut-Tec Experiment. And what if the reason he is pre-selected is because of his military status (which also automatically enrolls him into some "government testing"). the Salesman's apparent nervousness could be because he knows what he is about to do. And maybe the experiment is to turn everyone in Vault 111 into androids. But the "Sole Survivor" avoids his "conversion"; hence the sole survivor tag. He then rolls out to either wipe out his family as aberrations or rescue them from their Dr Frankenstein...

Personally I am not sure I want it explained. It opens up all sorts of RP possibilities. From the salesman having inside knowledge about the war, to your toon being a notorious war criminal.

More than likely the salesman had heartburn or his wife didn't give him any the night before.

Am I the only one who think the vault tec salesman looks a bit like Todd Howard? (no offense Todd)

I would be pretty nervous anyway if I was about to be nuked, and uncertain of when the bombs would drop, I'd may be just a little paranoid too.
