Guy Buys Fo4 With Caps: A Small Error in Logic : Fallout 4

Guys. Hey. You know that guy who bought Fallout 4 with his bottlecap collection? What if he just ordered bottlecaps on EBay. You can get like 500 Caps for $29.00(USD)... Maybe he didn't want to spend full price and wanted his 15 minutes of internet fame.

He sent in 2500 bottle caps. That would amount to far more than even what the collector's edition of the game would be if he just purchased the caps to send in.

He paid in a way unique to the game.

Gstaff also said he'll be the only one getting the game this way.

So Kudos to the guy for managing to get through with it.

Except that he didn't just outright buy all the bottles those caps were attached to just to chug their contents and send in the caps.

He saved them up over quite some time, so in the end, what is/was pretty much just junk from something he spent money on for another purpose, turned into a game.

but regardless of what it cost him, i say he deserves it (the fattest collector's edition they got). chapeau. :-)

Why the negativity? I'm a bitter old cynical man and even I find it amusing/fun. Yes my first thought was "PR move" or "Wanting internet fame", despite that - paying for the game in said game's ingame currency is somewhat poetic or whatnot imo.

It's a PR plus; we're talking about it, and it's news and publicity. They couldn't have bought that for $60 and it cost them nothing to be magnanimous about it.
(Why would they say "no", when they could say "Yes, but just this once"?)
