Information or aknowledgement from Beth about PC Crash issue

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 5:45 am

As the title of the thread says, it's been a remarkably long period of time since launch that COUNTLESS of PC users of both AMD and NVIDIA, of all different graphics card issues, have had a MAJOR and GAMEBREAKING bug of not being able to get past the launcher and into the game.

Many people on the tech support forums have reported this issue, as well as have reported trying to send help requests to Bethesda support with literally NO responses besides the automated email that they send.

I and many other PC gamers would like to see an aknowledgement of the issue from Bethesda regarding this crash, with at least a promise that they are looking into it and will patch it at some point. I really don't think this is asking too much.

Please gamesas, all of us love your games, love you as a company, and we just want to be able to launch it and enjoy it with the rest of the lucky ones out there that can. At least aknowledging this issue will go a long, long way to repairing many negative feelings towards you guys.

You do have the 1.1.30.0.0 beta patch from Steam, yes? as an Intel/nVidia/Win10 user I have yet to crash once since opting into the beta.

Yes, I and many other users have tried every single one of the fixes recommended, including this. In addition, this beta patch does not exist anymore, as gamesas created a real (nonbeta) patch the day after the game launched. It didn't help most of us.

I believe the beta was removed/downloaded on all users copies a few hours after it was released, it didn't fix anything for me or many others as far as I know

That is a shame. I can confirm that I have no crashing issues on a 4770K, 780ti 3Gb, Win10, 16Gb 1600, SSD machine. I am sorry to hear that many folks are so badly affected

Same here. [censored] happens and technical issues can be tricky but the support (or the lack of it) is whats really disappointing.

Exactly :(

I appreciate the feeling Daniel. Take a look at the PC tech support forums if you want, to see the extent of this ridiculous issue. That's why I made this post in the first place. gamesas has given no real aknowledgement or help for this, at all.

I agree Giz. Even if gamesas says "Hey guys, we're really sorry it's taking so long. We DO know this is an issue, and will try to patch it ASAP", I and others will be happy. We've tried everything else.

Agreed, some of us just need the assurance that it is being worked on and they will fix it. I have debated refunding it but I really want to play the game so for now I'm holding on to it.

I agree wholeheartedly. I asked for a refund once, and then magically the fix of deleting the config ini files found in the steam game folder and the documents folder made it run without a hiccup for 3 hours. The following day I was exited to continue only to be greeted by an in-game crash, followed by crashing when trying to save followed by crashing when trying to load the game. Of the 7 hours of game logged by steam only 3 were actual game time. Which works out to 20 bucks per hour. Needles to say I once again activated my refund request with that reasoning behind it.

My specs: 4970k @ 4ghz, 16Gb, XFX r9 280 DD 3Gb and Win7 Ultimate

At first the game would crash for me clicking "New Game" and loading for a while. Now it does the same thing with loading a game or starting a new game like I stated earlier. So the game is off my hard drive and refund is back active.

I am resisting the urge of upgrading my card to the r9 390 8gb... Just in case my videocard is to blame, and redox load the game. My PC is 1.5 years old, so it is time for the mid lifespan refresh...

Game has been out less than a week and they've already pushed 1 patch. I think they're listening.

Please read the posts, ANY of them. I'm talking about aknowledgement and information about a very severe and widespread problem. The only patch was 1 small patch about a VERY specific issue with an audio file on the 9th, and literally silence since then. I think they are listening because I've been a long time costumer of theirs since the very beginning. But we don't have any idea about their plans, or any knowledge of the issue, so we don't KNOW. And that, my friend, is a big problem.

99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs~ Take one down, patch it around, 117 little bugs in the code~

I understand it can take time for a fix to be made. They've got to try to locate the problem based only on the symptoms, then figure out how they can change it so it still works, but it no longer causes a problem, or makes even worse problems show up elsewhere. I'm trying to be patient, but I'm admittedly quite frustrated that I can't play the game, especially since it worked without issue the first time I started it up and I really enjoyed it. It'd be nice if they could at least get someone in-staff to come on here for ten minutes and make a sticky post saying something like, "Hey, we're aware of these issues [list], and we're trying to work on them." It'd help us calm down, by showing us they're listening, rather than us assuming they are.

Put in a R9 390 with 8 gigs of ram.... Guess what? Still crashes in the same spectacular fashion. And yes, I did have to redownload the game to try it... What a waste of time. Not money, because that card will give me lots of FUN when Star Wars Battlefront gets going. Refund on the game still pending, naturally. I litterally payed 20 dollars per hour of legitamite playtime... and the bonus was 4 hours of "agony in game time" wich is probably going to turn into more... I just want to play Bethesda... I just want to play.

Bethesda aren't in the habit of coming out and discussing specific bugs or issues people are having, until they appear in the patch notes. So I wouldn't expect anything.

Keep your eye on the sticky threads, GStaff has one going for support.

Wow that's really bad. I believe it though, something's really up with how the game is coded for PC.

Another day, another set of tons of posts about this issue, and another day of NO response from gamesas.

I keep my eyes on those posts, but nothing is made about this issue.

I mean I understand their habits, but frankly, it's a bad habit, and it needs to change about this VERY severe and widespread issue at the very least.

I think it's about 5am in Bethesda. They're probably still asleep. And I don't think they debug on the weekend.
