how hard is it going to be to go from current version to 5.0?

I just got GOTY but I have been so busy that I only got to play a little bit of the pitt.

FWE is great, but some times ++ spawns can be a pain, but thats what makes it so fun, if annoying, the challenge.

Uh then dont play with ++ spawns? Maybe you're a bit masochistic ;)

Upgrading will be easy, you just beed to be sure to remove some of plugins that we integrated into the mainfile. The new readme has pretty good upgrade instructions, so itsnt really a problem at all.

Was there a solution to Dogmeat returning to Vault 101 on a wait command?

I can say how I make it with test version.
1. I went in my Megaton House,
2. remove all my equipment from the body and place all of it into container.
3. I make hard save
4. I export my load order into file, uncheck and delete all FWE components in FOMM
5. Then I install FWE itself, overwrite all what was necessary, then- all required FOIP files. FWE package include only FWE core files, plugins, assets and DLC compatibility patches
6. I import my load order from file, recreate merged patch
7. I reapply all settings in the new config tool (just in case)
8. Then I load my last save, equip myself, wait 9 days in Megaton house
9 Continue the game.
Step 2 not necessarily, but sometimes mod's updates with equipped items can lead to stats messed up, so it will be good to perform it.
Step 8 needed to refresh monsters population, it is standard MMM procedure.

Well Dogmeat always returns to Vault 101 if he has to wait somewhere for 7 days.

But I think you had the problem with him instantly returning there whenever you gave the wait command via the command handset? But yeah that also shouldnt happen anymore, was just a small typo in a scriptline.
