Boston geography?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:08 pm

As I don't know Boston or the surrounding area I'm wondering if it's a mainly flat place or if it has hills and mountains. Lakes or rivers, or grasslands or forests. If you know Boston and the kind of things that we should expect to see please help paint a picture of its landscape.

Thanks hard to tell the elevation from an aerial view but I noticed it does have woods and a reservation at the top of the map. And an airport right on the coast. Just like gta v. Lol.

It does seem like Ground Zero, if thats where the bomb hit, is far away from Boston it self. Like they actualy missed their intended target.

From the game trailer Boston takes the brunt of the main shockwave that would have destroyed most of the landscape but if it's 200 years in the future then you would still have lakes and rivers as well as seeds growing that would have been buried in the ground and also blown in from high winds from futher afield. So the landscape should have a more rural look to it now than its old urban look before the blast.

The map i made and posted from Imugr shows my GUESS for the ground 0.But judging from all the footage we have seen,I'm pretty sure of it.

(The compass from the gameplay showcase was a great help.)

not Necessarily, they may have actually hit what they were aiming at, given what used to be in the area of some of the guesses I have seen you had things like a Nike Missile base, a Federal Currency reserve collection and distribution center, the Watertown Arsenal which had a Research reactor that was actually a nuclear environmental Superfund sight at one point, and so on. heck one moment!(Starts a new topic)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blue_Hill, SW of the city, is the highest point in Eastern Mass at 635 feet. Used to bike to and then walk up there as a kid.

In the Concept art, The Glowing sea is Portrayed as located in the Somersville Area (North of the Charles River, above Boston)

Not prairie type flat. It's got a few hills, but not very high.

Within the city, the two named hills I can think of are Bunker and Beacon.

Boston itself is pretty flat but the surrounding area is pretty varied from hills, rivers, forests etc...

In short, there will be enough varied terrain to keep it interesting.
