So are deathclaw extremely powerful now?

I can safely assume you don't need power armor, the player is attacking the deathclaw without power armor and damaging the death claw. The player might not have been killed or he might of been killed for example when the mosquito like creature attacks the player it initiates a similar kind of attack and the player survives. If your wearing power armor its just going to be...safer.

Its a pretty easy assumption so don't stress mate.

Just me speculating, same as you. There's no doubt deathclaws will be bullet sponges and distance being your best friend. I agree about the tedious Bethesda fights, but I'm guessing deathclaws will be dealing more damage this time around.

Needing power armor to fight deathclaws would definitely svck for light armor users, unless there is a light armored version of the power armor being that it looks to play a significant role this time around.

One thing I wonder is what exactly triggers the deathclaw's new animation critical hit (could possibly be a fatality kill) where they lift you in the air and uppercut slice you as shown in the reveal? Is this something that happens when you're low on health and the deathclaw gets too close? If it is, what is the timing between the PC successfully popping another stimpack and the deathclaw animation being activated before you could inject the stimpak?

I got some outside and most inside the walls.. and then again more in the Sewers where I actually found them more deadly. It was harder to reposition myself to avoid their approach.

Im hoping for similar inside locations for Deathclaws.

Tales from Fo3: The Lone Wanderer escapes the vault, only to head directly to Super Duper Mart, encountering a (Full Health) Deathclaw and some dead Wastelanders. The Deathclaw immediately turns it attention to TLW and charges. TLW then grabs his trusty 10mm Pistol, sporting a hardy 4 Dam, and uses V.A.T.S. to shoot the Deathclaws left leg. He then focuses his attacks on that same leg until the Deathclaw becomes crippled in said appendage. Following this, TLW simply circles the Deathclaw from a distance, firing round after round into it's torso until it drops dead. TLW walks away unharmed and with a fresh Deathclaw Hand to show all of his friends in Megaton.

Deathclaws had better be bad-[censored] mother-[censored] in Fo4. I had better not be able to do this in Fo4.

I hated that. It made them more like xenomorphs vs marines than an individual terrifying foe.

Deathclaws are already decently hard to beat. I don't see why they would make them harder.

I don't believe the Deathclaw was at full health. The game occasionally places a severely low-health Deathclaw at Super Duper Mart or at some other random spawn location near Vault 101, pre-damaged just so low-level characters can handle it.

Without good armor you has to kill the deathclaw before it reaches you. It will be no problem with good stealth in open areas, very hard in closed ones. The deathclaw cave in NV was hard because of this and multiple deathclaws.

It has spawned at full health for me occasionally.
