I had a ceiling light bulb that I tried to scrap and my game crashed. On reload I realized that when you try to scrap a lightbulb like that it tries to get steel from it instead of copper and glass, so it is probably to do with that. If you store it in the workbench -> put it in your inventory -> drop it -> and then scrap it, it works fine. Just not when it's set as a piece of "furniture" or whatever to call it.
