Combat System and Customizability

The combat system in oblivion was very plain

You should add more elements combat system for example;

- If you block at the right time you can counter certain strikes etc.

- Have different stances like assassin, tank, warrior each one affects how well you block, and how fast you attack.

- Attacking mid way through an enemies swing you can perform a stab attack for a critical hit

- The ability to wield two weapons

- The size of the character affecting his strength and ability to sneak and dodge.

- Using terrain to your advantage or disadvantage over enemies; climbing tress, hiding in bushes, scaling cliffs, setting traps, if you walk on terrain with twigs, gravel, leaves and broken glass people around you detect you, where as if you sneak this will counter the affect

- When using the hand-to-hand skill rather than just using fists you can kick, dodge, duck etc.

- Also while weilding a bow i find it annoying you can take a few just before the enemy reaches you. You should be able to incorperate hand-to-hand while weilding a bow (being able to kick and punch etc.)

They should also have a much larger variety of weapons: Halberds, Pikes, Spears, Crossbow, Throwing knives, etc.

There should be a much better customisability in weapons armour being able to layer certain pieces of armour/clothing. So you could wear different shoulder pads, being able to wear vambraces on one arm while wearing a gauntlet on the other. Being able to choose what your quiver looks like when wielding arrows. Wearing different belts to hold throwing knives and daggers. Wearing cloaks over armour, also the colour of clothing should affect how visible you are, wearing green in woodland and black in shady places.

This is just an idea but you could have crafting, smihting and fletching skills. Being able to make your own armour so you can decided the shape of it, making different arrow tips and spear heads. Being able to use vegetation to make a camouflage suits (ghille still clothing etc.) and being able to fletch bows to the shape of your choosing and making arrows.

Let me kno what you think ^_^
