Yep.
So, Concord is definitely confirmed.
I am definitely taking it as meaning the Minute Men faction is based out of the MMHNP in Concord.
Not that people are still complaining on them being a faction, are they?

Wasn't that already confirmed by the Microsoft E3 Footage?

I dont see any reason to complain, after all we have had Caeser's Legion, why not a faction based around an important historical event for the Boston locals.

If this is the case, then it would suggest that https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Minute+Man+National+Historical+Park+-+North+Bridge/@42.471166,-71.35372,14z/data=http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1525808-independence-day/!4m2!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0x70924b001f6c7b2f is a possible in-game location. Which would make the total map area truly enormous when compared to http://i.imgur.com/EzaTAU9.jpg image.

EDIT: thank you to OldtimeKiller and HeroofKvatch99 for the links to the new images, they look awesome!

I'd be disappointed if the game wasn't chock full of American history. Easily the best part of Fallout 3 was how they used the setting and characters to explore different concepts of American culture; it tied everything together. I only wish New Vegas did so well with its Wild West setting.

I wonder how they'll tie everything together with Fallout 4's plot. I'm expecting some heavy Revolutionary War symbolism, but how they'll tie in the Institute's technology beyond android autonomy is beyond me.

Those are some nice maps, there.
Indeed, I think the park is bound to be where they are based out of.
It is my guess that there was a re-enactment set to happen on the day the bombs fell. This means period costumes were present, which we clearly see the Minutemen wearing. I think it also explains the presence of the Red Coat ghouls.

If Boston is where the endgame happens, starting out that far from from it just makes sense.
I was looking around in google maps. What are we looking at, about 25 square miles worth of Mass?

Today would have been a good day for a prank; and released a FO4 teaser video with 'Liberty Supreme' giving a public service announcement. :chaos:

Happy B-day 'Merica! Can't wait to wander such a historic town that was so important to our independence in F4!

Pretty sure the park is in it. During the Settlements workbench portion of the demo the minutemen statue appeared on the PC's locational radar. Don't get hasty on map size though. The Capital Wasteland was scaled drastically and with varying locational liberties.

The smaller map has what looks like Walden Pond State Reservation past the blast zone.

No problem. I heard some commentary somewhere that they actually got a visual on the statue in the background. I never did see it so I don't want to send you on a goose chase. The statue marker is definitely there though

at roughly 23:20 go full resolution and you can see it at the bottom.

We can confirm Bunker Hill is in. I fully expect to see the Charlestown Navy Yard (home of the Constitution and Cassin Young), Revere's Home, Fanueil Hall will almost definitely be in. Also The Old South Meeting house, and maybe a modified "Boston Light" lighthouse.

There is a lot of great architecture in Boston for use. More I daresay than D.C. though more humble as a beginning fulcrum for world history.

Edit- and Harvard I am sure will make an appearance.

FE - I really hope the Bethesda scouts did their homework. I found some really quirky sites that would fit fallout. Thanks to Atlas Obscura for the more interesting locales I have never heard of.

Metropolitan Waterworks museum(for the building mats), Warren Anatomical Museum(creep factor),Edgar Allen Poe Square, Forest Hills Cemetary, Stanza dei Sigari (cigars are in game items), Old North Church Crypt, Ether Monument, Mather Family Tombs (cotton mather), The Ether Dome, Tremont Temple, The Skinny House, and last but not least: Lobster Mickey.

Sorry guys, the link to the flag in the above post doesn't seem to be working, and I can't amend it at this time. http://www.learnnc.org/lp/media/flags/Peoples_Republic_of_China_800px.png one, however, should be fine

EDIT: wrong thread lol! Should have gone into http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1526246-the-glowing-sea/?p=24148696 one :bonk:
