Hircine Werewolf Quest

Post » Sun May 30, 2010 9:10 pm

In the expansion to Morrowind-Bloodmoon You did a quest for the Daedric Prince Hircine. In this quest you take care of a rogue were-boar and in return he gifts you his Ring. The Ring gifted to you allows you to transform into a werewolf at will. I think the Devs will probably not have this but i think it is a very cool idea. If they have werewolves i really hope they manage to do this too. I don't want to have to wait every timer i want to be a werewolf. I would love to find the opportunity to earn this ring through a quest because i tell you... in bloodmoon you earned the ring...then in oblivion you got that curaiss that i'm sure nobody cared about. It had a little use against magic but it just did not do a good job replacing the Awesome ring given to you in bloodmoon. I hope that if they have werewolves they install this daedric quest.

I think you got mixed up there at the beginning? I believe it was Daggerfall you did the wereboar quest in, since wereboar were not in Bloodmoon or Morrowind.
As for how you actually get it in Morrowind, yes you do earn it. :D And you also get The Cuirass of the Saviors hide in Morrowind.

it's also important to note that in Morrowind Hircine does not "give" you Hircine's ring, The Huntsman's spear, of The Cuirass of the Saviors Hide. You receive the ring and the spear by defeating two different people. Won't say who for spoilers and you get the Saviors Hide if you steal it from Divayth Fyr's tower. My point is, we don't need a daedric quest to get daedric artifacts like in Oblivion. I would much prefer to not only have daedric quests but also be able to find some of these artifacts by other means like in Morrowind and I assume Daggerfall -haven't got that far yet to know-

I agree, but this has already been discussed to death in another topic ^^

Personally I don't want the ring. I feel if you want to be a werewolf, deal with the good and bad.
I don't want a ring to make me a vampire only when I want...

Then again, this boils down to the choice aspect, in that its not fair for one players views to erase the demands on another player.
So while I don't want to see it, I'll just live around it if its there.

The difference is though, you're not in wolfform all the time. If you were, I wouldn't care about the ring, but since you're not, I'd like to have the option to be a werewolf, all the damn time ^^

I think being a werewolf and a vampire are two different kinds of living. Being a werewolf u just have to make sure u leave town everytime u transform but otherwise its just fine. Vampires are alwasy vampires. ur not alwasy a wolfman when ur a werewolf.

I just finished Bloodmoon this morning. Definitely my favorite main quest of the three. That being, Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon.

And I completely agree with you. I certainly want more. Especially after playing it again.
