Tragic the Garnering

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:01 am

How awesome would it be if Tragic the Garnering would be included in FO4 as a fully fleshed out, well balanced trading card game?! Totally optional of course. Cards can be anything from wasteland creatures, to NPCs and different weapons.

Ideas? Suggestions? What do you guys and gals say?

Would be a nice mini-game to play through, collecting other cards, placing down bets, kind of like Caravan.

I really liked Caravan but I think it would be another nice addition to the world to have more of a Magic the Gathering clone. With so much lore to tap into it could serve to further cement the personality of the Fallout universe.

I believe Tragic the Garnering ran into some ... legal issues which is why we never/saw heard from it again.

I actually still call Magic, Tragic the Garnering in RL where I see it played. (Cause holy crap is Magic getting old now)

I could never get into that game, but I don't see why not since there are going to be other pip-boy games.

I think the collection of game tapes will be about the limit of the 'in game' game. I want to play Red Menace. I would laugh if its possible to play Fallout Shelter from within Fallout 4 :)

It was referenced in NV actually, so I don't think there were any problems. In one of the H&H terminal messages, here is the excerpt:

3) Any employee seen to be cohabitating, colluding, or cogitating with any of the following groups will be terminated immediately: foreigners, Masons, carpenters, Tragic players, illegal aliens, extraterrestrials or the Flemish.

I never took part in the tragic miniquest back in FO2. I mean, I met the guy who plays it with you, but I ended up just shooting him and everyone else in the tavern. Power armor and energy weapons has a way of turning a character into a mass murdering madman lol

I liked caravan, but would love to see a gwent style card game as well as small gambling rooms in settlement bars.

With some of the baseball themes in the game (and the park) maybe we can collect baseball cards. Some game played with them would be cool.

Gwent is exactly what made me think of this. Imagine if each Fallout faction had their own theme decks that mirror their attitude, personality, tactics etc. Not a gwent or magic clone per se, but based on them.
