Custom ammunition

So let's say your going to a fight or area of map where the enemies are really over powered you but you only have a 10 mil. Pistol but wait you can craft explosive rounds! Plus there will be a wide variety from acid to electric to armor piercing

I'd like to see rubber bullets, you know when you don't actually want to "kill" someone, you just really need to hurt them.

While I can see the utility of rubber bullets and explosive rounds and armor piercing rounds, that can also be a lot to keep track of.... of course if ammunition has no weight (it doesn't in vanilla Fallout-3, anyway) then there'd be nothing wrong with carrying ammunition for different types of situations.

Not sure how you'd go about swapping kinds of ammo. May be easier to have different weapons (or mods FOR weapons) with different effects. Like a needler ammo pack you can add to a pistol to make a paralyzing non-lethal dart-thrower....

You are assuming I'm not going to take that 10mm pistol and turn it into an abomination to all mankind, which will be spoken of in hushed whispers for ages to come.

Thank you.

There's such a thing as too much ammo. I never bothered with making my own ammo in FONV cause there were 10 kinds of shells, different powder, 13 kinds of slugs and AAARRRRGGGHH!

I have a feeling there may be a couple of different kinds for each weapon type and then maybe they'll introduce more in DLC like for Gun Runners. And of course there will be everything from rubber bullets to paint balls in mods.

Honestly I just never bothered with it. I mean it was a neat concept and I'm sure there are some that just had to have the exact right ammo for every encounter. Me I just shot things until they died with regular old bullets. Seemed to work just fine without the hassle of swapping ammo types all the time.

So ... I'd prefer it not be in FO4 myself, but if they do add it just make it so I can completely ignore it and do fine anyway. Then at least others who are min/maxers of damage can have something else to worry about.

They had this in New Vegas, but i guess we cant be garenteed it will come over to FO4. I would like it though, since i like the idee of some ammo types being better against some armor types.

Maybe also comment on the topic instead of just correcting people's grammar mistakes please, not everyone is native nor fluent in english.

New Vegas's special ammo's remind me Buff/Resistance potions in fantasy RPG's. By the end of the game, you have like a million of them in your inventory, because you never used them, but they're there for strategic reasons if you want them. Some people like having that special kind of edge, and I can respect that.

I actually used the ammo crafting in New Vegas because I had a weapon of preference, but not a lot of money to dump into buying ammo. But what I DID have was a lot of materials scrounged to MAKE the ammo accumulated over my adventures. To the point where I knew what I should keep my eyes out for to make that particular caliber.

It's there if you want it, and if you want it, you can use it. I like that.

New Vegas introduced an extra screen on your PipBoy for ammo selection

Personally I loved the mad bomber perk in FONV, ok some may say a mini-nuke landmine may be a bit over the top to take out a travelling merchant, a couple of mercenaries and a Brahmin, but [censored] it, try to rip me off will they?!? RIDE THE MUSHROOM!!

Yeah if only "ride the mushroom" had the same effect as being whacked by a giant in Skyrim. Course I'm not sure which is better, flying or being torn to giblets.

I'm figuring they will have custom ammo since you can customize every thing else.

I mean when you have 50 base weapons and over 700 mods, what is adding a Armor Piercing, Bulk Ammo, Hollow Point, and JSP Hand Load mod to the gun ammo.

Add in an Over Charge, Max Charge, and Bulk Ammo to the energy weapon ammo and some thing for the grenades, missiles, and rockets and you are done.

And even if they don't, someone will mod it in.

Actually even if they do, someone will mod it some more.
