Oh no, I'm crashing again!

I'm getting an error message that says "Local count for script 'nolore' differs from local count for saved reference data." Then my game CTDs. I've tried cleaning with Mash but it finds no errors, and my save file shows as purple. The error message shows up about fifty times in my warnings.txt, along with the same error message about 'pub_Balmora_eight,' some from Better Clothes that I hear are harmless, and one about being unable to load land texture idx 11 which I've been getting for about a year with no real problems caused by it. What does this error message mean? How do I fix it? Will I have to start a whole new game yet again?

That message is usually harmless. It means a script has changed since it was last run.

There are a few ways to save your character even when "restarting", although they usually unbalance half the game, but are you sure that's the error that's crashing the game? Do any others pop up? I've gotten that one quite a few times without any crashes, so I'm wondering if there's not something else in there going funny.

An extreme solution would be to backup your save and open it in EE. Delete all NPCs and any references to the script (especially a stored copy, if you see one). That might do it...

Everything in my warnings file was stuff that's supposed to be harmless - only that message, the thing about the land texture, and the Better Clothes stuff. What's odd is that with exactly the same lload list, I can start a new game without any problems...

It's definitely something in that save, then. Maybe something that's happening but not getting logged. A conflict between an old version and new?
Are you using the code patch's features for smoothing data-file changes?
I'm not familiar with Mash's advanced features, but is there any hard-core cleaning mode that will remove most of the temporary records? If all else fails, you could still try Enchanted Editor and deleting NPCs from the save.

I once had a error that had to do with nolore, i removed lgnpc_nolore and it worked. (this might not be to helpfull :sadvaultboy: but it's just a tip)

Maybe you could post your Warnings.txt, it sometimes helps to see the exact text of the errors you have.

If you can use a savegame editor, you might be able to fix your save with a little surgery. The basic idea is to delete records until your game loads.

The first thing I'd try to delete is the current cell you are in. (If you don't remember, Mash can tell you if you highlight your save in the Saves tab. Or you can look in the savegame for the GAME.GMDT or TES3.GMDT records, which save the current cell name). If that works then I would revert to the original save, and try deleting objects from that cell until you find the one that is bugging the game. If deleting the cell doesn't work, then try deleting NPC_ objects. If that doesn't work, then try deleting other record types until you find the one that is causing the problem. Once you find the problem record, it would be good (but extra work) to see if you can find which subrecord in that record is the problem, using the same delete until it loads procedure. If you can do all that, and at the end identify the problem record/subrecord, it would be very helpful to know what it was, maybe in the future a fix can be made.

Edit: P.S. are you using MCP 1.8's "Delayed spell crash fix"? If not, I'd try that first.

I am using every fix the Code Patch has pertaining to crashing... setting off to try that surgery now.
