Windowed Borderless Mode won't run (max 720p)

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:53 pm

I'm having this stutter in Full Screen mode so I decided to try Borderless Windowed mode. However when I select the (2) boxes for Borderless Windowed mode i lose my resolution options - i'm only given 2 options for resolution and the max is 720p. Huh?? Then when i launch, the game stays windowed, definitely not windowed borderless.

Anyone else with this issue? I'm just trying to achieve 60fps in 1080p with no stutter. Usually never an issue with my rig.

Edit ini files directly, tons of online info about this.

Or for ez mode fixing of a decent number of items:

Gives more options such as custom resolution

Try this:

Go to C:\Users\*YourUserID*\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 and open Fallout4Prefs.ini

Scroll down and change:

iSize H=1080

iSize W=1920

bMaximizeWindow=1

bBorderless=1

bFull Screen=0

Save and then Run the game as an Administrator.

I tried this yesterday. The first two settings were ok in my ini file. When I make the updates to the other 3 settings the game launches into a borderless window however the size of the picture doesn't fit my screen. It's way too big.

Unfortunately i have. I tried what Mark recommended and it didn't quite work. I was able to get to a borderless window but the size was all wrong. Oh, forgot to mention - even after the ini tweaks the max resolution i can select in the in-game settings (after checking the 2 boxes for windowed borderless) is 720p.

The idea was to download the tweaker program which has it's own set of options and locks ini files so they can't revert. Anyways, what you really want is full screen with windowed borderless and maximize window off
