Fallout, not Funout. Where are the mini-games?

I totally agree. Make it substantial enough to enrich the game but not so much that it takes over. I'm thinking Triple Triad, Gwent, and Xenosaga.

You can reset the random rule back to normal by talking to that one chick. I forgot where...

I like some mini-games in games, though, I don't always play them.

It appears there's an arena for fighting in the game according the trailer.

The concept art seems to illustrate bowling alley sports wear, and bowling ball bags, so, it might be interesting if there was a mini game for bowling.

A pool table game, would also be a nice addition.

Some working pin-ball machines in "civilized" areas might also be fun.

Those claw machines that have prizes to pick up also could add some atmosphere in at least one location.

Critter fights and races as a betting spectacle could be fun.

All of these could also be attached to optional side quests, but playable and re-playable regardless of whether or not any associated side quest was followed.

For bowling, there could be a specific NPC you need to talk to for a certain quest, but, the NPC only appears once you join a bowling team and compete in a league to certain level.

Playing pool could be similar with certain NPCs becoming available for interaction once you reach a certain level of skill.

There could be a computer hacker that's a pin-ball wizard you need to impress to get his help with something technical.

A quest item could be stuck in the claw machine and you have to shovel caps into the thing until you get it ... or, sneak in after hours and smash the blasted thing for all the fluffy fuzzy goods inside.

Critter fights and races could get out of hand with critters escaping, or, you getting paid to "fix" a fight or race by secretly drugging one of the critters in its cage or pen before an event, or maybe you could have your own stable of prize winning Arabian Rad-Scorpions that run faster than any other scorpy for racing ...

yeah, lots of fun stuffs like this could certainly add flavor and atmosphere to areas of the game ... but, really only so much as they're optional.

It's really super annoying when you're forced into playing a mini game to progress the main quest ... those stupid swoop races in KOTOR ... ugh.

Mini games! YES! ... but, only so long as they're optional.

Imagine winning a gun from that machine, and have it based on your luck... if your luck was high enough, say 7, you would not only have a chance of getting a great weapon... but it also having medium-high modifications on it. Instead of using caps, the machine would take tokens that you either buy from someone, or can find while scavenging.

If I have to play the game 150,000 hours just to find the stupid tokens like those extra special caps with the stars in New Vegas, I'll just break the machine. :P

ugh, that drove me crazy. ... and that cowboy robot thing was way super creepy.

Id like the ability to modify a Protecteron to have a Slot MAchine inbuild into its chest and then every so often as it ambles after me around the wastes I can stop to play the slots.

Then continue on.

With a high luck, you now can find more rare items easier in Fallout 4, so if the game is determined by the luck skill, finding the tokens shouldn't be too difficult.... Especially if you are thorough in your search.
