Gimping on special?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 11:44 am

Quick question, started a character 10 hours ago with the following specials : S1, E1, P6, C5, I6, A1, L9 - Currently level 12 tried going for a sneak build but realised I have had to raise my Agility up, put various points in bloody mess, rifleman, gun nut, science and armourer, however my player isn't doing to great on the damage front. Is it possible I have gimped myself and thus restart and lose my progress or should I keep ploughing through and level up as per normal and correct the build that way?

There is no gimp, only what you make of it. However, 10 hours is nothing relative to normal full run.

And it wouldnt be a FO game if you didnt abort first or couple starts. I would just restart given you are barely into progress so far.

As a personal rule of thumb, any time you leave a stat at 1, that means you have no interest in the perks in that tree, and are basically giving it up. So now you need to ask yourself, do you need Sneak? Or any of the perks in the agility tree, many of which are qutie useful? If the answer is yes, i would restart, because this game is no longer based on skills but on perks, so study the perk chart and familiarize yourself, then pick the perks you want and then set your SPECIAL attributes accordingly.
