Does this seem correct to everyone?

the red in the upper corner Is where we seem to start from, the blue line was me trying to figure out where you go from Vault to the Ballpark.

the other markers are me rough drafting in the mod Im making and not realy relivant to where everthing is in game yet apart from brown being a guess as to being close to the Glowing sea for reasons I cant get into yet.

note if you want more detail. . .

Spoiler

Titles a bit misleading if not outright confusing. I thought it was referring to visible map fragments on the player model or something.

Not to me personally. That map is far too small an area.

Fallout 3 covered a distance of 25 X 25 miles, scaled down to 4 X 4 miles in-game. The map you posted is far smaller then that, so I doubt it would be that small.

whats more is that Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim all started you off somewhat near the center, not in one of the corners like your map shows.

Fallout 4's map will likely be something more like this

Ironically I'm hoping the map is a lot further east and north than west.. Buy I'm focusing more on what's been shown. One sec

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1t_YHgo_HN47 min point. The impression I had was that one direction was curtained off with a wall just behind a possible residedential area.

Well, it was just a guess on my part based on how much real world distance the fo3 map covered.

NV's covered like 80something miles diagonally, which is far greater then Fo3's, or the map I drew for Fo4, yet still compered it into about 16 square miles playable area.

It really all depends on how many small towns they want to erase from the map when downsizing.

There may be more than that, but it's pretty good. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they do start us near a corner of the map, as Todd did say that the path culminated in the arrival to Boston (he more or less said that).

Well the thing is there's a bit of history that happened to the west of the line you have it at, and we have a bit of a catch 22 with that location, it's possible that Todds not as conversant with certain bits is US history, and given the reality that he Technicaly has a VERY large plate of worms on his hands ALREADY, I would not blame him in he kind of backed away from that one.

just clarifying a bit...

red which is where I think the general consensus is that something is at.

Pink is something I or someone else has spotted that seems to be in game but don't have firm data on if its actually there in game

my mod notes are in a separate layer section so you can turn them off

Spoiler

Blue is for what I have currently developed, (however NOT the final locations, that will depend on what is there from Bethesda among other things)

Brown is kind of a placeholder for where I strongly suspect something might be in the official game that would be an conflict issue for what i am doing

yellow is for references of things from the 1950s or earlier

Green are for things from now,

Black references from fiction, ( I moved black markers on my most recent map, I had put them in the wrong location, need to figure where they realy go because the story did not happen in the middle of the channel!)

That was shot down the day after E3, one sec

7:28 green landmark on compass indicating a monument

9:00 monument shown to be just past wooden bridge, monument itself is minuteman statue, thus showing that the location is where IOTL Minuetman park is located

22:00 raiders are clearly attacking with the statue in the background....

ok cleaned up some earlyer bad info and worked on some guestimates based on Quakecon and a Boston Historical society map.

Note, the corner markers ARE NOT meant to be symmetrical, they were quick drops and incidentally are MY Guesses as to the maximum "IOTL lore-reference area" of the map if you will,Bethesda can and will push things around to better fit the map they end up using.
