Game crashes no matter what

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:21 am

Ok I know many people are having this issue right now. I cannot get the game to start up. I am using a CPU that is just slightly under the minimum requirement Phenom x4 2.8GHrz, with 4 GB RAM and GeForce 9800gt 1GB graphics card. I am waiting on my RAM upgrade to get here in a few days. I am upgrading to 8 GB. Here is my DxDiag:

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What you need to upgrade is your video card. Aside from the 9800gt being a rather old card that probably doesnt have the horsepower to run the game, it is also a DirectX 10 card. It seems more and more evident that this game requires a DX11 or better card.

OK, Firstly, this issue is [censored], we've all been there, 30 different drivers, reinstalled 20 times, i just about lost a kilo of hair with stress, lol.
Secondly, my computer is not under-powered, please check the minimum specs before anything else. I have a i53330 @3.80GHz, 16GB ram, multiple SSDs, and a GTX 960 4GB.
Thirdly, I tried many "tips" to get it working first, including altering my ini which did nothing lol.

So, basically, right click the fallout 4 icon on your desktop, then go to properties.
Now, make sure that it isnt set to open as admin in the "compatibility" section.
Next thing to do is navigate to Documents (my documents on older systems) to find your "My Games" folder.
Find the folder named "Fallout 4" and delete it.

Open the game and enjoy... at least i did. Good luck and have fun guys :)

This is not going to save the OP from having an underpowered old card.

You are literally copying and pasting the exact same response onto every crash thread. You're supremely unhelpful.

An underpowered card should have the effect of a very slow game, that needs to be put on low graphics to have a decent FPS. This game is crashing with Titan cards and 980 gtx's even. I'm pretty sure it's not the card at this point.

man, whether its annoying that i copy paste it or not, it worked to fix mine, it worked to fix a mates, and it worked when my missus got her copy and it did the same thing. Either way, you guys can stop asking for help if you're gunna carry on like smartarses when someone responds
