Suggestion: Dog finds things.

Paid mods.

Bethesda will hold off on paid mods until after FO4 ships, but they won't let it fall; they do [already] plan on revisiting it after the release.

For a cat, I would expect it to be more like the pets in Pillars of Eternity, than the FO4 dog.

Mods can do this.

Anyway, for the original idea of the dog bringing you dead animals.
It would be great, say after you wake up in your own bed, you find your dog wagging it's tail beside the bed with a present for you, as if to say, good morning.

Not just dead animals, dead people they attacked; random passers by, or those the dog attacked in self defense.

Wake up with body parts in the bed, and no idea who they were or when it happened, and the dog is waiting to be pet and assured. :chaos:

You should never use grenades when travelling with a dog-

"Stay, boy. Stay!... No! Drop it, drop it!... Oh God no! Not to me! Get away you stupid mut!!!" *shoots dog*

So do kids.
*But I'm not going to link the proof.

The dog is a big part of the series' tradition; for several reasons... though few of them still apply to the recent titles.

Once they have the FO4 money in the bank (and not at risk of a day 1 boycott), they then have years to enforce the paid mod's framework; and they will.

It monetizes the GECK freeware.

Not everyone is hyping the dog, but presumably, the people who are are in fact the same people who LIKE dogs.

It's a hard concept to understand. People getting excited about things they like. Frankly, I think we need to get some of the best and brightest minds on the planet together to see if they can crack the code as to why and how that phenomenon occurs. I mean, what kind of sense does it make for people to be excited and talk about things that they enjoy?

That needs to be a mod that gets slipped into hundreds of various mods on Steam and Nexus. :chaos:

Payed mods was a scam from the start. they give the moders a 25% cut, but Steam holds on to the cash with a policy that required a minimum of 100$ to Withdraw! lucky you! put a 1USD mod and you need to sell 400 of it (at a time when DLs for mods in general for Skyrim were slowing down) to get them to cut a check, any Additional sales that happen between when you ask for the check and when they finaly get around to processing and sending you the check? To bad so sad you have to ask again later when the balanced they "owe" you is over 400$... and if you don't withdraw it right away Steam reserved the right after a undefined period to pocket that too. Very nice of them.(this was probably why so many of the mods were ridiculously priced in the first place) never mind the Idiots who were throwing up whatever pile of utter crap they could throw up on it, never mind all of the people who threw up mods that they DLEd from other places besides Nexus claiming it as there own work and thinking they could get away with THAT, and never mind the mods you only find on the hard core porm mod sights containing content that was Banned on Nexus that suddenly showed up for sale.

The wildest part of all of this was that they have known for Months now that the Steam "Development for profit" community was the biggest bunch of scam artists that I have seen outside of the Harris county jail, given all of the Unity asset repackaging that gets thrown up as "games".

That's not unusual; though I've seen it [with other companies] where the amount was user stipulated. It's business friendly, and allows them to run the service on a schedule.

*However it also would seem to mean that if one uploads garbage, it likely never gets to the point where they have to pay them for it; unless perhaps there is some way to close the account.

imagine if a raider throws a grenade at you and the dog finds it, picks it up and runs at you to give it to you

don t tell me i know i have 3 of them running around , kids that is

and yes it always have been a part of the lore that dog a left over from the original developers all of them fan of the original madmax films

but it always been optional , i don t think i ever ever used the dag as my character companion , not only because i do not like canines but mostly because the followers AI was pretty awefull in all of the previous FO games

lastly they ve been so overselling this dog i got very suspicious about their motives , same as they been overselling their voiced protagonist ,

It was, and they have been.

*The dog leveled up to way more than 10 APs, and also could never shoot the PC in the back. ;)

Hah, if Gabe Newell told us the truth after the paid mods fiasco i wish them good luck with that.

I think he said something like "Do you know what it costs to piss off the internet? It costs a million bucks in a couple of days"

Basically they had to do so much extra work thanks to the fallout (pun intended) that the revenue of the paid mods barely covered 1% of the extra work that had to be done.

It would be great if the game was a hardcoe survival game.

I think we had this option in the 2 previous titles, but i never used it.

Because ammo and meds are so easy to find. (you don't even have to find it, it's lying around everywhere)

I think this will be the case in F4 to.

Is the OP unaware this feature was already in FO3?

Dogmeat was my MAIN way to find the Firelance (in the area the event happened) in every game I played.
