It has helped significantly with my preformance problems.

SHould say Beta. Maybe a moderator can fix it.

The drivers worked at first but then there were visual issues a day or so after.
I'm seeing improved performance, using an r9 270x.
Introduced horrible stutter on my HD 7850, reverted back for now.
Helped slightly with frame rate issues in built up areas but not perfect. Still no crossfire profile yet so I'm down to a single 290X. Hopefully AMD will release some proper drivers for the game soon.
I usually get between 45-60 FPS inside and in the open wasteland (decent enough that I don't really notice) but as soon as I enter the city areas it drops to 30 and below.
I'm running the game on Saphire R9 290 (Ultra) with standard latest driver didn't have much issues only sometimes fps drops but nothing serious.
Windows 10
FX 8350
16Gb DDR3
Have you been in the major city areas? Depending on where I look I either get high 40's or as bad as 20 or less. Anywhere else in the game it's fine.
Also running on ultra 1080p (lowering settings does not seem to make any improvements in city areas) on a single 290X (the other card has to sit idle because there's no crossfire profile for it yet).
Just need to wait on AMD as I don't think there's much Bethesda can do.
Yes there are fps drops in some area's in cities but nothing to bad imo, for me it only drops few seconds and then goes back to 60fps.
Still like 90% of city is good for me only happens rarely.
I think it's more a CPU issue then GPU though the game is very heavy on CPU.
I'm convinced it's to do with AMD's video drivers (or lack thereof). I have an i7 4790K running at 4.2Ghz and 16GB RAM. The game shouldn't be an issue for it.
My friend has a GTX 970 and he says after Nvidia released their latest drivers the game has been completely fine, even in the areas I'm having difficulty in. He has an i5 4690K at 3.5Ghz.
Like you said, it's not too bad and hasn't stopped me from playing but it is a little bit annoying.
thats a solid fps boost with new driver http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/fallout_4_s_performance_on_amd_increases_dramatically_with_new_drivers/1
Yes but CPU's preform way's less then in "average" game check out this article:

I will try this one tonight and see if the drops are gone.
Makes me wish I had a Fury X. Not nearly as much gains with my 290X. Like I said earlier, it helped, but it's not great. Crossfire would definitely help.
It uses the same engine as Skyrim. I can play Skyrim at 4K ultra without a hitch yet I can't even play Fallout 4 at 1080p without the frame rate taking a nose dive occasionally.
say thank you to GameNotWorks and marketing salesmen at Bethesda with their "friends at Nvidia". they had to bump hardware specs to make a loud fuss around it and keep NV happy so they sell more of their gimped 3,5gb 970's
I do still get some frame rate drops in cities. In specific areas. The driver is an improvement at least. I used to get rate drops everywhere. Hopefully there is more to come.
I have a 7870 HD gpu.
QUick corvega test inside averages about 35-40 frames. Thats with most things maxed. SLiders less than half. DOD and ODF on high.
DOF low and shadow stuff medium. Not 60 frames but playable for me.
Same.
It's not great but as long as it stays above 30 it's bearable.
