Screen stays black at start of game.

For some unknown reason, to me that is, every time I start the game now the screen stays black but everything is running in the background. What's up with that. And, that is all the details that I have.

| Dell XPS 8700 | Intel i5-4440 3.10GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 | 8GB DC / DDR3 1600Mhz | Windows 7 64Bit Home Edition |

Did you have the game working to begin with and it just started doing this?

For me, the game worked fine for the first few days until I decided to install some Windows security updates.

After that I would just get a black screen and would have to kill it from task manager.

I did a system restore and the game's working again.

Did you recently update Windows?

I wasn't able to test to see which specific update caused the problem. System restore screws up often on my system so I didn't want to risk doing it multiple times to figure it out.

Just in case you're more ambitious than me and want to figure out what specific update causes the problem, here are the ones that I installed.

KB3100773 - Internet Explorer update, unlikely to be the one

KB3097989
KB3097996 - These three are updates to the .Net Framework don't know if this could cause a problem with steam maybe?
KB3098781

KB3042058 - Has to do with encryption so I wouldn't think it's this
KB3080446 - Update for Windows Shell
KB3081320 - Something to do with address spoofing?
KB3092601 - Update for Windows Winsock
KB3093513 - Windows Shell update, has to do with a remote code execution vulnerability
KB3097877 - another remote code vulnerability
KB3097966 - Has to do with digital certificates and spoofing, probably not the one
KB3100213 - Windows Journal and remote code execution vulnerability
KB3101246 - Something to do with bit locker
KB3101722 - Update for NDIS? Don't know what that is
KB3101746 - Another generic remote code execution one

I decided to try to figure it out myself.

I installed all of the security updates one at a time and found the one causing the issue.

It's KB3092601

I don't know who to take this information to. Bethesda support, or microsoft to see what the issue is and find a solution.

I don't know if that's the problem with you or others, but that's the update that messed things up for me.

I pretty much have to control>ALT>Delete and do a restart to fix the damn issue.
