Stuck at terminals

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 2:30 am

So I have over 50 hours invested into Fallout 4 and just recently I have been getting stuck at terminals. I have hardly had any issues other than the occasional fps drop in some cases but everything has been working great apart from than that. I set the preference file interval to "0" but it didn't help at all. I am running a g-Sync monitor at 144hz with a Evga GTX 980ti. I read that the high framerate has something to do with it but I played 50 hours without the issue and nothing has changed on my end.

What gives?

Yes, to high fps (>100) get you stuck at terminals sometimes.

Well it has to be something recently because I haven't had any problems before. I've hacked hundreds of terminals and it never happened once, all with the same settings. I installed a new gpu driver yesterday. I rolled it back and it still happened so that wasn't the issue. I also used afterburner to set the fps to 60 and it still happens. This doesn't make any sense. Very frustrating, especially it worked so well in the past. I thought maybe Bethesda nailed it on the head this time but something always comes up.

Why now and not before?

RNG and randomness. It was always there you just never got hit by it.

I had the same thing happen. 30-40 hours of near perfection...then the Monsignor area CTD started on a BOS quest. I decided to start a new game and now I get stuck at almost every terminal. Reinstalled the game (hoping for the formal glory!) still getting stuck at most terminals. I find if I save right before activating them it has a chance to work. I've decided to hone my fort building skills for a while(!)

I've had this happen as well. When it happens, open the debug console, target the terminal and type: activate player. Then exit the terminal again as usual and you should be unstuck.
