It seems Obsidian knows their players as well.
This is how they did it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em7qUtzqrKw
True.
When modding Skyrim even something that seems "simple" usually means something else needs to be changed also (and so on) for balancing reasons.
@Motsie: You win the internets. Modders, take note. You'll need it.
Modding this game...I think...Is not going to be easy. And by that I mean...the voice work of the protag for quest mods...Whether or not weapon mods will be passe in comparison to the modding system...
I salute any Modders looking to carry on the mantle to the next phase of the series.
It won't even take a year for modders to release more (and probably better) companions and tools that allow you to have as many companions as you want. I think in Skyrim a month after the CK was released we had these mods.
Also, if you are still playing Skyrim or Fallout 3 or NV don't judge companions by the base games. Fallout NV had some good ones (EDI and Boone come to mind). But one of the best was a mod called Russell. And Skyrim has many really good modded companions and one VERY good mod that adds a ton of companions, quests, and other things called Interesting NPC's (that's available for FO3 too, by the way - if anyone is replaying the games).
In short, companions are the last thing I'm worried about. Whatever the dev's don't have modders will add.
I like having a nice small army of companions. I use the companion glitch every time in 3 and NV. They're really handy in 3, when there's four way battles between me, the Super Mutants, Talon Co., and the Enclave. Every other faction gets to have help, so why can't I?
