New "Survival Guide" quest?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 1:26 am

The quote from Piper ""Look, I have to get settled in, but, um, stop by my office later. I have an idea for an article that you would be perfect for." sounds like a romantic hook, but it also sounds like a hook towards something like the Wasteland Wilderness Survival Guide quests Moira had in Fallout 3. Could be something for those unfamiliar with the game to help get into the mechanics and style.

I suspect it will be more of a field reporter themed quest line, basically she gives you a lead for a story somewhere and it′s your task to go explore and investigate it.

I'm going to be doing that anyway. Might as well get some caps paid on top.

While I enjoyed the wasteland survival guide quest, it was a great way to start the game, I'd rather not see a copy and paste version of it in Fallout 4. Needless to say, Piper could point you in directions of interesting military complexes, or other types of areas that she heard about.

Ooh...a periodical wasteland newspaper...

Like the...Black Horse Courier was it? There was not NEARLY enough editions of that in Oblivion.

What better way to stoke our egos than seeing we made front page?

So... we know there most be newspapers or something like this. At l?east Piper sounds very much like a woman from the newspapers :)

That's the air I'm getting. Sure, hearing your deeds over the radio is all well and good...but...oooh, what if you get front page and you can hang the newspapers on the walls of your base?

"Where's the boss?"

"He's in the Ego Room staring at the headlines again."

Being as the guide basically served as a tutorial for people new to the game, I'm sure they'll be something similar in fo4

It might give us a chance to pick some history for our soul survivor.

I'd love a questline where we can be/help a spunky journalist get the scoop. That'll be awesome. And American af.

Lol, i am so going to make an ego room if this happens. Even if I have to set them on shelves myself.

I got the impression from the things I've read that the line quoted in the OP is said to us AFTER we have already done things for her. It sounds like she may indeed be tied to quests that help us explore and learn our surroundings, and then she says this to us and it may be the start of a possible romantic connection.
