Fallout 4 Relationships - Marriage?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:45 pm

It occured to me that - at quake con - it was announced that 12 companions would be in the game and you may begin romantic relationships with the ones among them that are human. Regardless of six.
So yeah, basically that means you wont be able to get your sweet, sweet cravings for Codsworths mechanicall prowess
But it does bring up another question - is there marriage or is it monogamy?
It made sence in skyrim, theres law, order and a somewhat decent standard of living. They have some form of govermental prowess, atleast.
In fallout, its barren. Theres no goverment or order - someone could kill you for the simple pleasure of watching a bullet enter a skull.
So there isn't really any formal way of legally (and "spiritually") way of bonding 2 people.
And will your kick-ass, sixy companion become a house wife that gives you 100 caps per day or can we roam the wastes together? Watching our perfectly formed arses being enhanced by the glorious volumetric lighting
Could we start a new family together? Adopt or have another child?
Are there any mechanics to this or will it simply change how that companion speaks and acts towoards the player?

Now I know theres alot of sarcasm, speculation, ill thought of jokes and questions in that. But the point still stands - how do other people feel about this and how do you think this will be implemented in-game?
Im assuming it means your wife and child are truly gone, for any of you who were hoping otherwise

There's a long http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1528542-romantic-relationships-with-companions/ that isn't locked yet :)

And just because there's no central government doesn't mean there's no http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Religion. Those do tend to survive even in chaotic and troubled times. Bethesda may include a suitable ceremony for one/some of the Fallout religions - or maybe a small non-denominational chapel somewhere :)

I don't think there will be a a option to marry someone. Personally I just hope they don't end after you have six(but i'm sure they will). They should continue after that.

I could see a small event happening like an exchanging of rings or something to represent your relationship once it becomes serious, but I doubt there will be an official ceremony.

I'm holding out hope to reconcile with the missus. But...you know...strangers in the night.

Not like I've never cheated on a binary waifu before..I'm sorry Liara, but me and Tali just happened...

A Waifu is a fictional female with whom a person develops an emotional attatchment. The male equivalent is the Husbando.
It's a typical practice among us nerds.

I only cheated on Yennifer because I lost my memory...

I might do the same if my husbando were 200 years dead.

If there was any hint your child or wife was still alive - im pretty sure the sole surivour would stay single either for his wife or childs sake.
Given that relationships are prelevant, i think youll simply wake up to find them dead and the story is based around your characters military past, the brotherhood, enclave, ect.. - emphasising what todd said "we want to make you feel asif you lost something"

Unless theres a ludicrous plot twist where the body of your wife or child was fake and half the way through the story - oh, ive built up a new life in this post apololyptic wasteland, got close to someone else, built settlements - but secretly my wife was alive?
I doubt that.. Not sure why

That's what I'm thinking since I want my first character to remain faithful. But I'm also considering that things can happen out there.

As long as it isnt another "Hey, is that an amulet of Mara, your not married yet? Let's shag!!!!!!!" it might work, but id rather just have it as the quick romp in the wasteland and back to killing raiders afterwards no strings attached kind of thing. :D
