Low fps after PC's restart

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:19 pm

OK, i will try to start new topic for that specific problem.

My spec:

i5 quad core 2,4 or something

8 gb RAM

nvidia 660 gt 2 gb VRAM

hdd

W10PRO Version 1511 (10586)

After first install of F4 there was very good quality picture with reshade+swiftFX on HIGH with 1920x1050 and stable 60 fps.

After nonstop playing for about ten hours I've turned off my PC.

And than the mystic started... After restart F4 provides low FPS rate even on MIN presets.

The solution which I found is to delete F4 than use Media Creation Tool to "update" windows and than reinstall NVIDIA driver. After that I redownload F4 and it works good until next restart of PC.

Any idea what can I do in this situation? Windows updating and redownloading takes a lot of time, and I think for legal copy of programm product I can expect that I should not dance with all this updating and redownloadings...

If your restarting your PC and having performance issues in the game, you need to look at what programs are starting up with Windows. Use MSCONFIG to figure that out.

Best to troubleshoot using a strict Clean Boot, the only thing that should start up with Windows in this case is the Steam Service. If all is well, then it's one of the programs that needs to be told to not load with Windows. Hint, 99% of the programs that want to load with Windows don't need to, they load just fine from the Start Menu when you need them

Also, you don't need to delete F4, or any game, and redownload it. Use Steam Back Up to make a back up copy of the game (use one volume, no compression and pick a directory on some hard drive you have) Then you can restore the game rather than reinstall.

CCNA, thank you for your reply and advices.

I will check, which programms are starting up with windows, but if I remember right, there is only OneDrive, NVIDIA GeForce Experience (without streamer), steam and SB audidgy manager.

Also thank you for good advice about backup. But if the problem with rebooting remains, could it be any troubles with installation of F4? May be I should check some registry keys or something?

That is a known problem child with games. Unless you need it to force the system to use your 3D video card for the game, shut it down.

I won't let a video card control panel run when I am gaming. But, still use the Clean Boot first.
