1st Fallout 4 Patch to Release Next Week !

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 3:58 am

>>> Bethesda has said to expect the first beta patch for Fallout 4 to arrive next week. <<<

Thank you! We can't say it enough- thank you for the amazing support you've given us. We're incredibly blessed to have so many incredible fans.

You've made Fallout 4 not just our largest game launch ever, but one of the industry’s. It's beyond anything we hoped for.

According to the company, it is “hard at work addressing the top issues,” and the beta patch will be released first on Steam.

The freedom in our games can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once.

Given the scale and complexity of the systems at work, especially when allowing you to build your own settlements,

and we’d like to thank our amazing QA staff who worked as hard as anyone to break the game so we could fix it during development.

But a hundred testers will never replicate the many millions playing the game now, and we’re hard at work addressing the top issues.

After the beta patch is released on Steam, it will be followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles.

Test patches have been released for previous Bethesda titles, which the company said has “worked well” for it in the past as it allows it to “get more fixes out faster.”

“Expect to see more updates, that are smaller and more frequent, than a few big ones,” said Bethesda.

This allows us to make sure each fix is working right, as any change can have unintentional side effects in a game this huge.

We expect the first beta patch to be up next week.

If you have feedback or issues to let us know about, contact our support staff.

Thanks again for everything. We look forward to our continued journeys together.

WOOHOO~! Finally, some news! Hopefully, this'll take care of the CTD's and other major, game-breaking issues. And here's to hoping the beta pops in on Monday, if not Friday night. xD

EDIT: Checking Steam, the Beta tab is back up in the Fallout 4 Properties right now, but it doesn't have any options other than "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" at this time. With luck, this means the beta will be out sooner, rather than later.

Yeah, but as someone who can't even get into the game, sooner is better.

Here's to hoping it doesn't bugger up people who haven't had major issues. Might turn off the auto update to make sure it works for others before I let it download.

Sure, the freedom in their game lead to unintentional crap keyboard keybinding ( who btw is just the result of a dumb gamepad control port on keyboard with tons of hardcoded keys )

yeah, sure, i buy that. ofc....

No wonder how the game would be without thoses "hundred testers"....

Hey - those hundred testers must have done something right. This has been Bethesda's least buggy launch to date.

Stoked that they're doing a patch. Hopefully it will address this and the terminal bugs most of all. High hopes! :D

Good news. I got hit by the unresponsive Vault 81 and 114 doors glitch which thoughtfully destroys VATS for the rest of the game, so I really hope those are fixed. But apart from those (and some, I hesitate to say "minor" issues) it's been quite stable. Hasn't even crashed since I played from release.

Now that in itself is some kind of record.

Given that they completely didn't fix this in Skyrim, I see no reason why they would rush to fix it now. Its not like this is an issue that they haven't known about for years.

The Bethesda company motto seems to be "Near enough is good enough and let the modders do the rest".

They'll fix up the bugs that are most obvious and game-breaking, but don't for a second think that they'll bother doing anything more than the bare minimum to keep the fanbois on side. If keybinding means that the game is unplayable for a small percentage of us, why would Bethesda even care? They've already got our money, and thats really all they wanted in the first place.

Patch Note:

Fix God Ray setting in game launcher.

That's all.

Of course this is sarcasm but considering their track record I wouldn't put it past them to again only fix a singular issue.

My only concern with the patch is this

We expect the first beta patch to be up next week.

Sounds to me like its not 100% they will release the patch next week, they just hope they can.
