They had them in Skyrim, Fallout4, Oblivion etc etc... Why shouldn't they do it for FO4?

Ummm? Spot the mistake? heh.

The problems with localisation dubbing is always going to be down to "will supplying the game with local language support increase sales". Hiring actors to speak the lines cost money. If they hire bad ones it's going to make the game appear crap which will affect future sales. If there aren't enough projected sales in said language then they won't do it anyway... and if the political atmosphere is unstable, well then the chances of a localised dub is lowered even further.

It's just a shame the whole world doesn't speak a single language... or that we don't all speak two languages... our local language and a global language. That way you wouldn't get some ignorant Brits going abroad and raising their voices when the French/German/Italian/Whateverian person doesn't understand them in the theory that they will understand IF YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE ENOUGH (and FYI I'm a Brit and have some friends who think that lol).

Say, if you did have a global language then the game companies could do it in their home language and the global on... Only two languages to do would save a lot of money and everyone would understand the game. PROBLEM SOLVED... now if only we could decide on the global language... Probably be Txt-ian if the youth of today have any input heh.

World of Tanks,Stalker, The Metro games, Histroical war games like Blitzkrieg,Fallout is pretty popular to.

And yes Stalker is set in Chernobyl (Ukraine) so it would be logical if they speak that language.

I always thought the Oblivion Lost name was really confusing lol... Thought it was another Beth game when I first heard about it.

He was talking

He was talking about localised voices... so the problem was he said Fallout 4 and meant 3. Although there was one other fault that drives me nuts. Why do people put FO4 when Fallout is actually one word. It's not Fall Out.

Perhaps it's a little pedantic but it just niggles the hell out of me (I'm a bit OCD about English after I had a bit of a Nazi English teacher who told my mom and sister that I should have been put down at birth... all because I wrote a sci-fi story about an astronaut alone in a spacecraft when the teacher asked for a story about "lonliness". Apparently the teacher didn't like sci-fi!). It's funny how silly stuff happening when you are a kid affects you into advlthood. This was back in the 70's....

13000 voiced lines however isn't that hard of a feat to achieve for a localization studio, considering they may have already started say 2 months ago.
why did they take 2 years for the original language? who knows. word count surely is not the reason. it was probably just a nice way of saying: we kept changing the script, so we had to rerecord lines all the time.
for reference:
http://www.pcgamer.com/skyrim-has-60000-lines-of-dialogue-new-dragon-shouts-revealed-horses-confirmed/
skyrim had 60000 lines of voiced dialog and it was voiced in several languages.
don't see why FO4 shouldn't be fully localized, even if it scratched 100000 lines.

Most of it is due to story/writing changes introduced during development. And I think your estimation of time is off. 2 months equates out to roughly 30 lines per hour, which is quite a lot.

It really depends on money on what they decide to do or not do.

Yes a global language would be really a good thing. Unfortunately all attempts to create a global language have mostly failed. The most famous of those is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto. Language is tied too much to the history and culture of the people that speak it, no one apparently wants to speak an artificially created language.

For now, the closest thing to a global language is English. Maybe some years down the line it will be Chinese, but this is completely offtopic anyway.

I actually fear german localization, if it going to be as bad as usual, then i would rather play it in russian.

PLEASE DO RUSSIAN voiceovers !!!!!!!! I hope everything is clear written with the help of google translite.

I doubt very seriously that discrimination has any thing to do with it. Money is probably the reason there is no Russian voice over.

Of course there is discrimination. As described above Russia ranked first in playing computer games. Logically Bethesda should please its main customers. Discrimination because of politics. In Russia, we are ready to make Russian voiceovers for Fallout 4, but not enough money. Please Bethesda, and gamers help to make Russian voice acting, if not discrimination.
