I just loaded up my game and am currently on the Silver Shroud quest, and when I went to switch to a different weapon, nothing happens. I even went to an earlier save and still nothing. I just hope I don't have to start ALL over again from the very beginning as that would be very annoying.

And Yes, my computer can handle Fallout 4.

Sounds similar to one of the issues I'm having. When switching weapons, you see your character put the weapon away but then the screen is blank and you have no gun and cannot shoot, but the rest of the world around you is still moving (the game hasn't froze). Is this what seems to be happening to you too? If so, for me at least it takes up to 30 seconds or so for the gun to finally appear and usually any sounds associated with taking the weapon out catch up all at once.

Yeah, that's the one. My game plays out normally, I just can't use any weapon except for my fists. As for mine, the weapon switching isn't responding, because I waited indoors for my weapon to appear and nothing. I even loaded an earlier save and it still didn't swicth weapons.

Try going third person and back on first person or vice versa and see if that helps.

Nope, and it even wiped them from my favorites hot bar. Just noticed that, and for some reason it won't highlight all my weapons. It skips over certain weapons in my inventory completely as if they weren't there, but I know they are.

By any chance you got on in any Power Armors that your companion used?

There a bug for me that happens when I enter a companions power armor after they been dismissed.

Try entering a different P.A ,your inventory might work but maybe it wont if your off of it.

you might have to load a prior save before you had this bug and also might want to make back ups of your saves just in case in the future.

I usually take my fuel cores with me to deter my companion from hopping in. I had loaded a save before the bug occured and it did the same thing, and I'm not wearing my power armor.
