FOBOS? What is that?
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, a game considered so bad saying its name is akin to saying Voldemort in Harry Potter.
Honestly, a lot of over-realistic "common" weapons are things I'd rather not see in Fallout. 9mm pistols, military automatic rifles, standard caliber submachine guns, etc. Despite the fact that I use them regularly in New Vegas, I kind of preferred FO3's approach by having more futuristic-looking, uncommon, and sometimes completely off-the-wall firearms.
Compare a 10mm to a 9mm in the game. The 10mm is bigger, more futuristic, and more garish in that odd '50s kind of way. A 9mm is so common in the real world that, no matter where I am, I doubt I'm ever more than a mile away from one ('Murica!). Same thing with the R91 Assault RIfle vs. the Service Rifle, Carbine, and other military firearms. It's simultaneously bulkier and sleeker, and it's believable that the Pre-War world of Fallout would have developed such a weapon. More realistic weapons are common not only in real life, but also in video games. I like my weapons to be at least one step more outlandish than that, or at least outlandish enough to fit in with all the other outlandish things in a Fallout game.
From what they've shown off so far, it looks like I'm getting my wish. Especially with the extensive weapon modding system, having fewer "realistic" base guns and numerous oddball mods on the ones that are realistic will keep it from feeling like I'm in 100 other games that base all their weaponry on what you can find in an issue of Guns & Ammo.
Ithink the Tactics Brotherhood of Steel power armor is some of the best looking in the game. If they redesign the Mark 1 and 2 to look like the original concept art I believe a lot of people would prefer it.
