Fallout 4 not using AMD HD 7870 GPU

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 11:12 am

I tried to play the game properly, but the game will not use the AMD Radeon card that I have in my computer, as it is instead using the Intel 4000 card in there. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help is accepted and welcome

Thank you

A known issue. The usual solution is to make sure your monitor is plugged in to a GPU port and not the motherboard port. If that doesn't work or isn't possible you can attempt disabling your onboard GPU.

Could you tell me how to disable the onboard without blankscreening myself

I did that once and had to buy a new PC because it was just bricked. Thank you for your time, as I really want to play the game now that I've had it since launch day on steam

It would be great to play it. I absolutely loved Fallout 3 and New vegas, so I will be glad to delve into Fallout 4 and lose any of my remaining friends

I just checked, and I should be able to run the game on high at 50-60 frames in Diamond city

That's amazing. My 8 core CPU must make up for it.

That CPU is insane, and it's almost overwhelming my entire PC. It's kinda ridiculous.
