Fallout 3 Freeze Issue

Post » Thu Jun 03, 2010 9:27 am

Hi there,

When I had Fallout 3 installed before formatting the computer and putting Windows 7, it was working fine, 3 days ago I re-installed and now it freezes before I get around the 2nd minute, I downloaded a savegame cuz I couldnt get through the birth scene, and it doesn't matter cuz I still get these freezes, i've been all around Google to find an solution and it clearly states that Windows 7 has some Issues with Fallout 3, also by few people they say it's the ATI cards, well if there is a solution out there could anyone help me out? I've already pre-purchased NV and I don't want to format the whole computer and everything just because of some little tiny issue -.-

Can somebody help me ;)?

You have a CPU with hyperthreading (4 threads). Try to use the quadcore fix.
Open up the .ini file located in My Documents>My Games>Fallout 3. *Do not alter the one in the actual game directory labeled Fallout_Default_ini*
In the FALLOUT.ini find the line

bUseThreadedAI=0
change the 0 to a 1

then below it add the line

iNumHWThreads=2
