overhyped

Ah, it's only sad and cynical people who never pre-order.

People like me ;)

So far, though, my rule of 'never pre-order' has stood me in good stead. I really, really wanted to pre-order Aliens: Colonial Marines. I mean, an Aliens game! With the iconic pulse rifle and everything! What could go wrong? Buuut... well, I'm a sad and cynical man, who's seen enough people complaining bitterly about their mistakes, and I couldn't help noticing the rather worried and reserved tone of the previews... and to my enduring regret my cynicism was proved right.

I am quietly confident I'll buy FO4, but I'll do so knowing what I'm getting - deep RPG, sprawling action adventure, or messy bug-fest (yeah, might wait for a few patches if that's the case).

I don't think Bethesda are overhyping FO4, but the fans and the journalists most certainly are. It may be a brilliant game of its type, but there's so little information out there that it's hard to be sure what that type is :)

Let's see...

I don't feel that F4 has been overhyped, we the fanbase are doing a good job of hyping ourselves up.

I also will wait awhile after release before buying, maybe I can wait until they patch the worst bugs out. :teehee:

And OP, in FNV you don't have to "ride the railroad" if you don't want to. :disguise:

It's just overhyped if the result isn't good.

Witcher 2, Arkham City and Skyrim came out in the same year, so this year is a repeat of those events, really, and CD Projekt RED and Rocksteady have seriously upped their game; let's just hope Bethesda has made many huge leaps forward too.
