I just crashed, but then after waiting for the game to "sync" again, I noticed the down stream was in MB and taking ages.
Typical of Steam crashing you to desktop prior to applying a patch (really annoying). But I haven't seen any news about a patch, but hey, its definitely downloading something big.

gamesas have said the first patch is due any day now but I don't see any official release. It was probably just save syncing you saw.

That's what I though, but its still doing it, 50% now, its a BIG download, not a 1MB resync.

Can often take a few minutes for me too. Long play sessions can produce hundreds of MB of save data easily.
