I'm on board with this one. Yeah, they look different from FO3, but let's be honest, they weren't that nicely done in 3. Updated version, maybe also more realistic size. Or different FEV exposure. Whatevs.

Yeah they look better than in 3. I don't really care what explanation they give because I kinda don't care about Fallout 3 lore.
Just give me better super mutants.
''Just accepting'' it means that people weren't okay with them in the first place, even if they have to live with it, which means that something wasn't done good.
In fact, old Star Wars fans consider them nonsensical and a slap in the face to this day.
they do seem to be smaller and considering the 87 strain is basically a slightly imperfect strain of the FEV it sort of makes sense you get super mutants and you get a lot of them from the 87 strain but there are unforeseen side effects like the resulting mutants growing without end and all of them except maybe 1 percent being "dumb dumbs"
Yeah, I hope there is some of the old model like my avatar as well. It looks a lot more durable. The new big glass dome looks way too fragile.
I dont doubt that West Tek shared its Pan Immunity Virus research with the predecessor of the Institute. Remember it was their work on the Virus that became the FEV project. Thats when the Military sent in its own scientists for the Super Mutant Project. The Military got a copy of the Research and went with that. So the original notes /records were still with the West Tek Scientists.
Its more than likely the Institute decided to do something with that information in the name of SCIENCE, before deciding that Cybernetics was the better option.
Remember that they were working on it when a government team commandeered it from them, and shipped it off to Mariposa. I'd think ~rather, that being a classified project, would have gotten them stays in Leavenworth for retaining copies... not to even mention what the act of sharing them with MIT would have bought them.
