Lose audio sync and game locking up

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:24 am

I started playing Fallout the other day and have had zero issues. However, yesterday when I began playing the audio stop and then the game locked up for a minute. It then started to work again but now it keeps losing audio and locking up constantly. Any suggestions?

My experience this is usually some sort of overheating which causes this. (not a garantuee)

Overheating usually happens on Graphics card, CPU, or RAM or several of them.

Try override fans to run at max, see if that changes anything.

Even changing the room temperature to a lower temp. will help if this is the issue.

Cleaning dust inside the fans or computer air intakes can also help.

I've had fans running at max, but I will try cooling the room more and cleaning the insides

You need to determine if temperatures are a problem. Always use some sort of monitoring software. Speedfan, HWmonitor, etc.

Update audio drivers. Game cache verify.

I would start there. Potential background program causing issues? Install anything new recently?

So temps aren't a problem, drivers are updated and game cache verified and came back fine. This was also the latest thing I installed on my pc. I am going to reinstall the game and start from the beginning...thankfully I only have 27 hours in.
