Which Vid Card to Buy?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 3:01 am

Please help! :sadvaultboy:

Bethesda used to put out a list of video cards that had been verified with their games. Has such a list been published for Fallout 4? And if so, where can I find it?

I am putting together a new system, and I want to be sure the card I select works with this game.

Geforce 960Ti 2GB, 970 2GB or 980 2GB video card (Or with more than 2GB of VRAM). Those are my recommendations, with 970 and 980 recommended for medium/high graphics. 980Ti would likely be overkill.

I'm running on a model such as this:

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Quieter-Graphics-04G-P4-2974-KR/dp/B00NVODXR4

And i'm having a Wonderful experience at steady cap of 71 FPS which i set my self.

I have played over a thousand games, and gaming has been my passion for over 20 years.

I've spendt over $10000 the last 12 months on gaming, and thats mostly through buying games, contributing to "gaming charity", tweaking computers, and buying professional hardware.

I play 10 hours every day of the year, and i have not once regret buying this card.

If you have a monitor that runs over 2k resoulutions you will need a 980, and if you are doing up to 4k resolutions you will need a 980ti.

but if you are running on standards like 1920x1080 you will have more then sufficient graphics from a card like the 970.

Best of luck B)

There's really no way for them to go through all GPU manufacturers, but what the guy above said is pretty much the best bang for the buck. I have the same model which I believe is a particular model sold through Best Buy and other big box venders. I got mine just because I wanted on the cheap while waiting for Nvidia Pascal cards to drop in 2016...

So yeah the 970 is worth it for the $$$

Consolidated list of cards here:http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1549056-unofficial-will-my-pc-run-fallout-4-thread-8/

But a GTX 960, 970, or 980 will do well...4GB flavors.

Any GPU that meets at least the minimum requirements and above, should be proper to run Fallout 4.

So choose one, depending on your gaming desires and available budget. ;)
