Because unlike other devs they don't want to overhype there game by showing too much, too fast? There is still months to go before launch.

Then again not surprised by your comment, as you proven to have a childish malice towards the game due to some of things Beth has already revealed, so there be no point for Beth to show anything new, because you have clearly already made up your mind and actively want the game to fail.

How is what they're doing different from most other video game press?

Do you honestly want Dev's to just lay it all out before the game is even out? Are you that paranoid that it's gonna svck?

Except having a critical opinion has nothing to do with wether you like a game or not, nor does it mean you should actively interpret every Beth decision in a negative manor, so no, you don't have a critical opinion, you have what's called cronical pessimism.

Beth are under no obligations to present anything prior to release. Hell, the best hype is probably staying completely quiet as this game is gonna sell itself. Smart move says no further real info till release.

The game releases in November. Telling you that they've released a fair bit of info on the game thus far isn't being a kiss ass. Calm down. More info will be released closer to release.
