Crash Issue, PC-Support sadly not helping

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:20 pm

So after working through just about every FAQ and related Thread I could find and trying dozens of possible solutions (including far off ones such as upgrading to Windows 10) Im about to give up on this game. As a last resort I turned to customer support, sent them a detailed description of the crash that is preventing me from playing + my DxDiag.txt and waited. Unfortunately all I got was an automated response which refered me to the FAQ sections which I had already thoroughly read (which I also mentioned in my Mail to the supportlads). My further attempts to contact Support have been fruitless aside from the same generic automated response.

If one of you guys on here could help me fix this Id much appreciate it, if not I assume I'll have to move on.

The crash occurs as follows:

When I start the game I get into the Launcher. Regardless of which Settings I choose (I believe by now I must've tried just about every possible setup) pressing the "play" Button will always result in me getting into a Blackscreen with an immediate "Error" Window popping up telling me that "Fallout 4 has stopped working". I never made it beyond this so thats pretty much all there is to say about it.

If any of you ever encountered this issue before or think they might have an idea of how to fix it please let me know - if that helps i can of course also send you the DxDiag.txt . Im rather helpless at this stage so any suggestions are very welcome.

Thank you in advance and have a lovely day

Max

Well it's hard to actually help when there is no info but I'll try my best I guess - what are your computer specs first of all, video card, drivers - windows language and if you are still on windows 10 too.

Hey there I'm missing pretty much the most essential part - a video card

A first flag is 6gb RAM though, while it shouldn't really make it impossible to play, you can never know with f4

ah sorry, i forgot the card. here goes: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series

I can see my specs might be on the lower end but shouldnt the game still launch atleast? I wouldnt be surprised by performance issues but not even being able to get into the main menu seems kinda rough :(

thanks for your time in any way, I much appreciate it!

greetings

According to the minimum specifications, you have too little RAM, your CPU is barely meeting the minimum, and your video card is ancient and unsupported.

In short, you need a better computer to run this game.

Yea on the subject of support, Matt's sticky thread gives the system requirements, which is helpful in your situation. Even if you managed to get the game to launch, you don't meet the "minimum" requirements I'm afraid mate.

Also if you decide to upgrade your GPU you might need a new power supply. Modern GPUs require dedicated power rails that yours may not have. Worth checking.
