what dlc ideas do you have for this game and when (like what year) will they be coming out?

I'm forcing myself to reserve judgement until I know what I'm getting in the base.

And...GOTY? Maybe a year, year and a half, maybe. Usually a good long while after the final DLC drops and they announce they are done done with the game (IE, no more patches)

Fallout 3's 5 DLCs took around a year to release.

Skyrim's 2 expansions (and Hearthfire) took 15 months.

Wouldn't surprise me if there were 3 or 4 pieces and it took at least a year.

Asking now for DLCs when the game isn't even out yet, leads to the game publishers/devs cut content from the game to sell it as DLC, season passes where you don't know what you get and other nonse.

I don't understand how people even can ask now for DLCs.

Probably the same mentality that comes from planning mods before the game is even out to know what you want to mod. A sort of knee-jerk reaction because we know DLC is a thing.

And for some reason, people always seem to care about the DLC more than the core game.

Same reason people are debating and making wild speculations about the base game 3 months before it's even launched?

I would like to beat the game before worrying about DLC. But something tell me aliens will tie into at least one.

You can't "beat it". You can finish the main story line.

I haven't even finished the main quest in Skyrim yet, sigh.

Devs are going to do that, or not do that, regardless of what people on the forums talk about. Speculating on what their DLC plans are is just as valid as speculating on what the story or leveling will be like; it's something that's going to happen that we don't know about yet.

Blame Edward Bernays and psychological marketing. Not too long ago, many gamers loathed the idea of DLC's and season passes. Now we have speculation threads and ideas of what we would like to see as DLC, before the base game is even released. Manipulation of the human mind.

If the base game has 400 hours of content, I am content to wait however long it might take to get DLC. I have yet to bother with all the NV add ons and probably never will now that 4 is coming.

Sure you can beat it.. it's called doing everything there is to do in the game until the only thing left to do is run around and kill random creatures. ... which is boring so you start a new game.

Honestly, I would love to go to New York as a major expansion... But I rather focus on the main game for now, then think about DLCs.
