Underground Railway Lines and Fallout 4

I lived in Northern VA off and on since 1987 so it was cool seeing all the places in FO3. I even lived in Annandale -Andale but alas my apartment building was gone!. So yes, the tunnels we very real and I always feel as if I am in the game for real and find myself looking for raiders and ghouls when I ride the metro into DC.

I hope for some more tunnel exploring in Boston, and then plan a road trip to Boston at some point with my wife as we have talked about going for quite some time now.

I live in VA, about 50 miles south of DC and was really impressed with how accurate they were. Not just the monuments and stuff, but even the towns. Places like Fairfax, falls Church, olney, Georgetown, Dupont circle, etc; were right where they were supposed to be.

A city built onto the metro itself would be cool, the major hubs as the stations and the working subways being used as the merchants/supply-transport/travel system.

of course the power supply and maintenance would have to be controlled by a group with the resources, most likely the institute, or the railroad if they've bumped up their numbers.

Yep. I'm pretty sure my first place up here was near Megaton and my late wife's parents lived in Minefield for example. The places were shrunk and distorted and adapted to that universe but certainly recognizable.

Personally, I'm still lamenting the fact that Las Vegas has a huge underground system where people have set up shanty villages in real life that was never even touched upon in New Vegas, excepting in mods.

I don't want the Boston underground to be something we're constantly pushed to go into, but I would like it to at least exist and be a place to explore.

I really want another super complex mega-dungeon metro but judging by Skyrim's dungeon design I'm betting it won't be quite as vast and complicated as Fallout 3.

I liked the FO3 , underground a lot. It wasnt overwhelming and it was fairly easy to get out when you wanted to. I never really got lost.

Thanks for all the comments. Im glad people like the Underground transit ways as much as I do.

It was all pretty boring except for the Thorn and the Humble Cudgel area but NV had a huge underground system with a crowd of settlers. There were even a couple (minor) quests that sent you down there (to scold people).

I rode through the Lexington area yesterday and it was weird to imagine it will be in Fallout. I'm visiting Boston proper soon and I'll be sure to check out the subway.
